Hola, amigos de Hive. Es un gusto saludarles nuevamente y desearles un mes lleno de alegrías y bendiciones; que en estas fechas navideñas permanezca la armonía, la paz, la esperanza y la fe, crezcan en nuestros corazones.
Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes cómo realizamos en casa nuestro pesebre. Como les mencioné en mi publicación anterior, esta es una de las tradiciones más hermosas de las fiestas navideñas que representa el nacimiento del Niño Jesús. Esta tradición es la más importante en los Andes venezolanos, por lo que en mi casa se lleva a cabo cada año como buenos andinos que somos.
Como ya es costumbre, nos reunimos en familia para realizar el pesebre. Mi hermana mayor es la líder de la actividad y realiza en gran mayoría el pesebre mientras los demás le ayudamos a realizarlo.
Mi mamá comienza por sacar la caja donde se encuentran guardadas las imágenes durante 11 meses; estas imágenes representan el nacimiento del Niño Jesús. Todos felices y emocionados comenzamos a participar en la elaboración del mismo.
Se comienza por colocar o armar una montaña o especie de cueva con palos que luego serán forrados con papel previamente pintado para darle una bella vistosidad al mismo; para pintar el papel, solemos usar wiki wiki, que es la pintura para la ropa con almidón de maicena o almidón de yuca, que se prepara como si fuésemos a realizar un atol o un postre; esto es muy rendidor y económico; si no tenemos esta pintura, usamos pintura al frío, pero igualmente se rinde con el almidón.
En la parte del piso sustituimos el musgo por aserrín pintado; antiguamente se usaba musgo, pero eso no es nada bueno para nuestro ecosistema.
Se colocan en la parte central las imágenes de la virgen, san José, la mula y el buey; también se colocan los animales como ovejas, la estrella y los tres Reyes Magos. Por último, se colocan las luces y la brillantina al papel; esta parte siempre me gusta hacerla, ya que me encanta el brillo que genera. También colocamos unas piñitas de pino que mi hija había decorado y pintado. Cada familia le da su toque personal a su pesebre y muchos son muy creativos.
Listo el pesebre, compartimos comentarios sobre cómo nos quedó nuestra obra. Más tarde, cuando la noche empezó a caer y las luces del pesebre iluminaban el mismo, se sentía un ambiente en la casa que irradiaba alegría, paz espiritual y sobre todo unión familiar. La realización del pesebre no es una simple tradición y decoración, sino una celebración familiar cuyo significado es que ha llegado la Navidad y celebramos el nacimiento del Niño Jesús.

Today I want to share with you how we make our nativity scene at home. As I mentioned in my previous post, this is one of the most beautiful traditions of the Christmas season, representing the birth of the Baby Jesus. This tradition is the most important in the Venezuelan Andes, so in my home it is carried out every year as good Andeans that we are.
As is customary, we gather as a family to set up the nativity scene. My older sister is the leader of the activity and does most of the work while the rest of us help her.
My mom starts by taking out the box where the images are stored for 11 months; these images represent the birth of the Baby Jesus. Happy and excited, we all begin to participate in setting it up.
Start by building a mountain or cave-like structure with sticks, which will then be covered with pre-painted paper to make it look beautiful. To paint the paper, we usually use wiki wiki, which is clothing paint made with cornstarch or cassava starch, prepared as if we were making a porridge or dessert. This is very economical and goes a long way. If we don't have this paint, we use cold paint, but it works just as well with the starch.
On the floor, we replaced the moss with painted sawdust; moss was used in the past, but it is not good for our ecosystem.
The images of the Virgin Mary, Saint Joseph, the mule, and the ox are placed in the center; animals such as sheep, the star, and the three Wise Men are also placed. Finally, the lights and glitter are added to the paper; I always enjoy doing this part, as I love the sparkle it creates. We also add some pine cones that my daughter had decorated and painted. Each family adds their own personal touch to their nativity scene, and many are very creative.
Once the nativity scene was ready, we shared our thoughts on how our work had turned out. Later, when night began to fall and the lights of the nativity scene illuminated it, there was an atmosphere in the house that radiated joy, spiritual peace, and above all, family unity. The creation of the nativity scene is not simply a tradition and decoration, but a family celebration whose meaning is that Christmas has arrived and we celebrate the birth of the Baby Jesus.
