Una de las metas que me propuse para este año y de hecho lo incluí en mi Vision Board Edición Hogar fue comprar nuevos utensilios para mi cocina, sobretodo un buen sartén y al menos un par de ollas porque son artículos que me urgían inmensamente y que en 5 años teniendo mi propia casa no había podido adquirir.
La verdad estaba tan emocionada por la idea de comprar utensilios que simplemente me propuse reunir el dinero poco a poco para hacer esta compra, ya que sabía que iba a ser imposible hacerlo de un momento para otro. Mientras reuníamos el dinero Dani y yo comenzamos a investigar sobre los mejores materiales de sartenes y ollas para tener una idea de cómo buscar al momento de comprar y no terminar adquiriendo utensilios de mala calidad, en nuestra búsqueda aprendimos que el mejor de los materiales para las ollas es el acero inoxidable y para el sartén el aluminio prensado, teniendo todo esto en cuenta ya podíamos iniciar nuestra búsqueda de un buen sartén y ollas.
One of the goals that I set for myself for this year and in fact I included it in my Vision Board Home Edition was to buy new utensils for my kitchen, especially a good frying pan and at least a couple of pots because they are items that I needed immensely and that in 5 years of having my own house I had not been able to acquire.
The truth is that I was so excited by the idea of buying utensils that I simply decided to raise the money little by little to make this purchase, since I knew that it was going to be impossible to do it from one moment to the next. While we were raising the money, Dani and I began to research the best materials for pans and pots to have an idea of how to look when purchasing and not end up purchasing poor quality utensils. In our search we learned that the best materials for the pots is stainless steel and for the pan is pressed aluminum, taking all this into account we could start our search for a good pan and pots.
Apenas contábamos con el dinero nos tomamos un día entero para visitar las diferentes tiendas de artículos para el hogar de la ciudad con la intención de ver y comparar precios, material, calidad, tamaño y así definir qué y donde haríamos la compra.
Iniciamos nuestra búsqueda en la tienda Ivoo pero justo ese día estaba muy lleno y ni lugar había para estacionarse, por lo que decidimos seguir a la próxima tienda, la cual fue Multimax. Aquí ya habíamos ido anteriormente pero realmente no nos habíamos fijado en las ollas y sartenes, solo sabíamos que si habían y quisimos ir nuevamente esperando conseguir lo que buscábamos.
We barely had the money, we took a whole day to visit the different home goods stores in the city with the intention of seeing and comparing prices, material, quality, size and thus defining what and where we would make the purchase.
We started our search at the Ivoo store but that day it was very full and there was no place to park, so we decided to continue to the next store, which was Multimax. We had gone here before but we hadn't really looked at the pots and pans, we just knew that they were there and we wanted to go again hoping to get what we were looking for.
Por suerte en esta tienda había mucho que ver, tenían toda un área de utensilios para cocina de todo tipo y en cuanto a ollas y sartenes tenían una gran variedad tanto en sets como individuales. Comenzamos a ver los precios y a comparar tamaños y material de los sartenes, y aunque habían muchísimos de ellos quedé bastante decepcionada por no conseguir ninguno de calidad, solo había de granito y en su mayoría de aluminio que de acuerdo a lo que investigamos no eran buenos, además que se sentían muy delgados y débiles.
Luckily in this store there was a lot to see, they had a whole area of kitchen utensils of all kinds and in terms of pots and pans they had a great variety, both in sets and individually. We began to look at the prices and compare sizes and materials of the pans, and although there were many of them, I was quite disappointed because I couldn't get any of quality, there were only granite and mostly aluminum, which according to what we investigated were not good. In addition, they felt very thin and weak.
Con respecto a las ollas si conseguimos más variedad y de buen material (acero inoxidable) pero estos venían solo en sets de varias piezas y eso los hacía muy costosos, mientras que las ollas individuales eran más económicas pero eran de aluminio y eso no nos servía.
With regard to the pots, we did get more variety and good material (stainless steel) but these only came in sets of several pieces and that made them very expensive, while the individual pots were cheaper but they were made of aluminum and that was of no use to us. .
Otra cosa que quería comprar era un juego de cucharas de silicón para mezclar, ya que me pareció que serían muy útiles para cocinar y que además serian perfectas para cuidar del nuevo sartén y las ollas evitando rayones al momento de cocinar y en esta tienda vi unas que me gustaron mucho pero ya que no conseguimos lo principal no le di importancia en ese momento.
Another thing I wanted to buy was a set of silicone mixing spoons, since I thought they would be very useful for cooking and that they would also be perfect for taking care of the new pan and pots, avoiding scratches when cooking, and in this store I saw some I liked them a lot but since we didn't achieve the main thing I didn't give it importance at that moment.
Nuestra siguiente parada fue en el Centro Comercial “La Cascada” y luego de hacer un largo recorrido en busca de tiendas de hogar terminamos entrando a las únicas 2 que había, Traki y Tio Ammi que a decir verdad no me convencían mucho. Comenzamos en Traki y fuimos directo al área de artículos de cocina y realmente tenían muchísima mercancía, en su gran mayoría de la marca TRK Home que es propia de la franquicia.
Our next stop was at the Centro Comercial “La Cascada” and after making a long journey in search of home stores we ended up entering the only 2 there were, Traki and Tio Ammi To tell the truth, they didn't convince me much. We started at Traki and went straight to the kitchen items area and they really had a lot of merchandise, mostly from the TRK Home brand that is part of the franchise.
No había mucha variedad de sartenes y de paso no parecían ser muy buenos o al menos a mí no me convencían, además que eran muy grandes y súper costosos en comparación a la tienda anterior, por lo que inmediatamente los descartamos.
There wasn't much variety of pans and they didn't seem to be very good or at least they didn't convince me, plus they were very large and super expensive compared to the previous store, so we immediately discarded them.
En cuanto a ollas solo vimos unas pocas y por más que buscamos no conseguimos el material del cual estaban hechas y luego de tocarlas bien tampoco nos convencieron.
As for pots we only saw a few and no matter how much we searched we couldn't find the material they were made of and after touching them well they didn't convince us either.
Lo que si vi en Traki que me encantó fueron las cucharas y paletas tanto de silicón como de madera, lo mejor de todo es que no solo eran hermosas y hasta me parecían diseños elegantes sino que estaban a muy buen precio, pues habían desde 1$ y me pareció más que bien para lo buenos que se veían esos utensilios, sin embargo, tampoco compré nada en ese momento por no haber conseguido aun el sartén y las ollas.
What I did see in Traki that I loved were the spoons and paddles, both silicone and wooden, the best of all is that not only were they beautiful and they even seemed like elegant designs to me, but they were at a very good price, well They were available from $1 and I thought it was more than good for how good those utensils looked, however, I didn't buy anything at that time either because I hadn't yet gotten the frying pan and pots.
Saliendo de Traki fuimos a Tio Ammi que está justo al lado pero en esa tienda fue peor porque los pocos sartenes y ollas que habían parecían de muy mala calidad y ni siquiera especificaban el material del que estaban hechos, incluso le preguntamos a un par de trabajadores de la tienda y ni ellos sabían, así que aquí tampoco conseguimos nada.
Leaving Traki we went to Tio Ammi which is right next door but in that store it was worse because the few pots and pans they had seemed of very poor quality and did not even specify the material they were made of, We even asked a couple of store workers and they didn't even know, so we didn't get anything here either.
Aun nos faltaban un par de tiendas más por visitar pero la verdad estaba desanimada por no conseguir nada bueno, una de las últimas opciones era la tienda Daka pero tampoco pudimos entrar porque estaba repleta, al parecer habían promociones por el día de las madres y justo ese día era una locura. Ya por ultimo fuimos a Expo Hogar donde nos llevamos una gran decepción porque la que creíamos que era una tienda que vendía artículos muy buenos terminó siendo igual que las otras.
Ya como último recurso decidimos pasar por la ferretería EPA y la tienda Tijerazo que aunque no teníamos en mente conseguir allí lo que buscábamos nos llevamos una gran sorpresa cuando resultó todo lo contrario. No tenía idea de lo difícil que era conseguir unos buenos utensilios de cocina pero esta vez que nos tocó hacer esta compra nos dimos cuenta de que no solo es ir a cualquier tienda y comprar lo primero que vemos, también me sorprendió mucho que la gran mayoría de los artículos que vemos en las tiendas son de muy mala calidad y que de no ser porque investigamos mucho seguro habríamos terminado arrepintiéndonos por haber perdido nuestro dinero comprando utensilios malos que seguro no habrían durado nada. Fue toda una experiencia visitar diferentes tiendas en busca de un buen sartén y ollas y para no hacerles la historia más larga en un próximo post les hablaré de lo que finalmente compramos y como resultó.
We still had a couple more stores to visit but the truth is I was discouraged because we weren't getting anything good, one of the last options was the Daka store but we couldn't go in either because it was full, apparently there were promotions for the day of the mothers and just that day it was crazy. Finally we went to Expo Hogar where we were greatly disappointed because what we thought was a store that sold very good items ended up being the same as the others.
As a last resort we decided to go through the EPA hardware store and the Tijerazo store, although we did not have in mind to get what we were looking for there, we were greatly surprised when it turned out to be quite the opposite. I had no idea how difficult it was to get good kitchen utensils but this time when we had to make this purchase we realized that it is not only about going to any store and buying the first thing we see, I was also very surprised that the vast majority Of the items we see in stores are of very poor quality and if it were not for the fact that we did a lot of research, we would surely have ended up regretting having wasted our money buying bad utensils that surely would not have lasted at all. It was quite an experience visiting different stores in search of a good frying pan and pots and in order not to make the story longer, in a future post I will tell you about what we finally bought and how it turned out.
