Resulta que como esta casa tiene únicamente un cuarto, pues la señora que vivía aquí anteriormenteme me dio una buena idea, y por supuesto era lo que ella usaba, pues vivían en las mismas condiciones, lo que en este caso eran 5 personas en la misma casa, así que se podrán imaginar. La solución que ella había utilizado era poner una cama en la sala, pues bueno dicen por ahí que cuando la casa se cierra todo es cama, pero en este caso no era una cama común y corriente. Era una cama echa con genialidad, para espacios pequeños y que resolviera el problema.
Bueno su cama iba en la sala de lado, para que ocupara poco espacio, y tenía sus patas escondidas, cosas de que también quedara bien estéticamente. Bueno les cuento que hace pocos días recordé esta solución para mi casa y yo había guardado las fotos de la cama de ella para en un futuro hacer una igual o parecida. Así que era solo mostrarle el modelo a un carpintero y manos a la obra. Bueno les cuento que no fue tan fácil así, pues a muchos se lo enseñe y nadie quería hacerme el trabajo.
Hasta que llegué al carpintero que me ha hecho casi todas las cosas en mi casa, y bueno él me dijo que me la hacía. Vino a la casa, miró bien como era el modelo, tomo las medidas de donde yo la quería poner a ver si cabía, y bueno, allí quedaría perfecta, sacó sus cuentas y demás y se fue a hacer el trabajo. Les cuento que demoró casi un mes para tenerme la cama lista, ya que la verdad estaba un poquito complicada o mejor dicho, no es lo que uno está acostumbrado a hacer diariamente.
Cuando me la trajo aún faltaban cosas por hacerle, que obligatoriamente tenía que ajustarlas aquí en casa, y además me la dejó también colgada en la pared, trabajo que ya no le correspondía, pero bueno, ya me quiso hacer el favor completo. Así que la dejó lista y bueno ya la otra parte era mía, la parte de la pintura. Yo en particular quería hacerle algo muy personalizado, al igual que los detalles del acabado para que me pegara con la decoración que ya tenía en la sala.
En esta habitación los colores que predominan son el blanco el negro el beich y algún que otro toque de dorado, así que de estos colores la quería pintar para que me quedara una especie de combinación o algo así, para que no quedara tan feo con los adornos que ya tenía en la pared, así que en cuanto tuve la pintura puse manos a la obra. Como les dije el objetivo principal era que todo combinara, pero que no me quedara tan oscura la sala, así que decidí pintarla de blanco, con los detalles en negro y los accesorios en dorado.
No les puedo negar que tuve que darle varias manos de pintura para que todo combinara, pues fue un poco difícil que la cama tomara los colores, pues absorbía mucho, pero de verdad que al terminar, quedé más que satisfecha, pues todo quedó como me la imaginé, ni más ni menos, para que al menos hay una cama en la sala para ahorrar espacios en la casa, pero una cosa que quedara bonita y curiosa, no sé que les parecerá a ustedes, pero lo que es a mí me encantó, ya la han usado varias personas y la verdad también está muy cómoda. It turns out that since this place has only one bedroom, the lady who lived here before gave me a great idea—and of course, it was what she used, since they lived in the same conditions, which in this case meant five people in the same house, so you can imagine. The solution she had used was to put a bed in the living room—well, they say that when the house closes up, everything becomes a bed, but in this case, it wasn’t just any ordinary bed. It was a bed ingeniously designed for small spaces to solve the problem.
Well, her bed was in the living room, so it wouldn't take up much space, and the legs were hidden—all to make it look nice. Anyway, a few days ago I remembered this solution for my own home, and I'd saved photos of her bed so I could make one just like it or similar in the future. So all I had to do was show the design to a carpenter and get to work. Well, I’ll tell you it wasn’t quite that easy, because I showed it to a lot of people and no one wanted to do the job for me.
Until I got to the carpenter who’s made almost everything in my house, and well, he told me he’d make it for me. He came to the house, took a good look at the design, measured where I wanted to put it to see if it would fit—and well, it would be perfect there—did his calculations and so on, and went off to do the work. I’ll tell you, it took him almost a month to get the bed ready, since, to be honest, it was a little complicated—or rather, it’s not the kind of thing one is used to doing on a daily basis.
When he brought it over, there were still a few things that needed to be done—I had to make some adjustments here at home—and he even hung it on the wall for me, which wasn’t really his job, but he went out of his way to do me a complete favor. So he got it ready, and the rest was up to me—the painting part. I specifically wanted to make it very personalized, including the finishing touches, so it would match the decor I already had in the living room.
In this room, the predominant colors are white, black, beige, and the occasional touch of gold, so I wanted to paint it using these colors to create a sort of combination or something like that, so it wouldn’t look so out of place with the decorations I already had on the wall. So as soon as I had the paint, I got to work. As I told you, the main goal was for everything to match, but I didn’t want the room to end up too dark, so I decided to paint it white, with black accents and gold accessories.
I can't deny that I had to apply several coats of paint to get everything to match, since it was a bit difficult for the bed to take the color—it absorbed a lot of it—but honestly, when I was done, I was more than satisfied, because everything turned out exactly as I imagined it, no more, no less. At least now there's a bed in the living room to save space in the house, but one that's both pretty and unique. I don’t know what you’ll think of it, but I absolutely loved it. Several people have already used it, and honestly, it’s also very comfortable.
