Resulta que últimamente he estado restaurando algunas cosas en la casa, pues la verdad hay cosas que aunque uno quiera darle un poquito más de larguito en casa, a veces, ya no dan más. Resulta que mi jueguito de comedor ya está un poquito malito, o mejor dicho, las sillas del juego de comedor son las que están malitas, porque la mesa está en muy buen estado y tiene su cristal intacto, pero las sillas ya una vez las tuve que reparar, pero la verdad no duraron mucho, pues ya están rotas de nuevo, todas desoldadas y rotas.
Por acá por Cuba tenemos que buscar soluciones buenas, bonitas y baratas, pues la economía por acá no está muy buena que digamos, así que la solución era cambiar las sillas por unas más fuertes, y que también me hicieran jugo con la mesa o me pegaran con algo de la decoración para que no quedara tan feo, pero bueno, en realidad lo que estaba buscando era fortaleza, para poder usarlo como corresponde y es debido y poder usar sus 4 puestos en la mesa.
Bueno les cuento que puse manos a la obra y salí a buscar una solución para mi juego de comedor, así que salí a la calle y pase por varios lugares a ver qué veía, les cuento que me encontré unas banqueticas en una carpintería, eran de muy buen tamaño, perfectas para la mesa me quedaban, solo que no tienen espaldar, pero bueno la verdad me gustó mucho el modelo, y lo mejor es que eran bien fuertes, lo que no me gustaba es que eran de color azul, que es un color que no me pegaba con nada en la casa, pero bueno nada que no tenga solución.
Lo primero que hice fue hablar con las personas de la carpintería a ver si me les podían cambiar el color azul del tapizado por otro de otro color, y el que tenían era negro, a mí en particular me venía perfecto, pues me pega este color con la demás decoración de la casa, pues mis muebles eran de color negro, así que ya estaba resuelto, me le cambiarían el tapizado y en la tarde las podría recoger, así que en casa solo me quedaba por cambiarle el color de las paticas por blanco, para que me pegara con la mesa y listo.
En la tarde las recogí en la carpintería sin problemas y nada más que llegué a la casa les di su primera mano de pintura blanca, llevaba más de una, pues es un poco difícil tapar un azul con blanco, así que a los dos días le di la otra y ya quedaron bien. Amigos a veces las soluciones a las cosas están a nuestro alcance y no hay que volverse loco, solo hay que buscar opciones y alternativas, con este cambio, mi juego de comedor quedó como nuevo, y la verdad, para los precios que tienen hoy en día las cosas, no las encontré caras, están bien fuertes y me pegan además con la decoración de mi casa, así que quede más que satisfecha. It turns out that my dining room set is a little worn out, or rather, the chairs are worn out, because the table is in very good condition and the glass is intact, but I already had to repair the chairs once, and they didn't last long, because they're broken again, all unsoldered and broken.
Here in Cuba, we have to find good, attractive, and inexpensive solutions, because the economy here isn't very good, so the solution was to replace the chairs with stronger ones, and also to make them match the table or stick them with something from the decor so they wouldn't look so ugly, but really, what I was looking for was strength, so I could use them as they should be used and be able to use all four seats at the table.
Well, I'll tell you that I got down to work and went out to find a solution for my dining room set, so I went out on the street and stopped by several places to see what I could find. I'll tell you that I found some stools at a carpentry shop. They were a very good size, perfect for the table, but they didn't have backs. But I really liked the style, and the best part was that they were very sturdy. What I didn't like was that they were blue, a color that didn't match anything in my house, but that's nothing that can't be solved.
The first thing I did was talk to the people at the carpentry shop to see if they could change the blue upholstery to another color, and they had black, which was perfect for me, as it matched the rest of the decor in the house, since my furniture was black. So, it was settled. They would change the upholstery, and I could pick them up in the afternoon. Then, all I had to do at home was change the color of the legs to white to match the table, and that was it.
In the afternoon, I picked them up from the carpenter's shop without any problems, and as soon as I got home, I gave them their first coat of white paint. It took more than one coat, as it's a bit difficult to cover blue with white, so two days later I gave them another coat and they looked great. Friends, sometimes the solutions to problems are within our reach, and there's no need to go crazy. You just have to look for options and alternatives. With this change, my dining room set looks like new, and honestly, considering today's prices, I didn't find them expensive. They're very sturdy and match the decor of my house, so I'm more than satisfied. So I found the perfect solution: nice, inexpensive, and no fuss.
