And of course, there was my cat sleeping happily in the armchair. She doesn't care if there's clutter around her or not, she just sleeps and eats!

First, I scrubbed the dishes thoroughly and hung them out to dry, leaving only a few caked-on bowls in the sink (I filled them with water and dish soap, so they'd be softer to clean after a while). Then, I cleaned the stove and grates with degreaser. Then, I dusted the entire kitchen, especially the countertop. Even though there were still a lot of items lying around, I arranged them better to reduce clutter. Then, I swept carefully and thoroughly washed the floor, which still had some dust residue! In the end, I was very pleased with the result; the kitchen was clean and finally seems like a livable and pleasant kitchen. How long will this cleaning last? Who knows, maybe until my husband and stepdaughter come over!
