No soy de darme por vencida y mucho menos cuando debo dar el ejemplo, pero estoy sospechando que no me dará tiempo de completar el Desafío 2 del Reto Transforma tu Hogar con Home Solutions.
Esta semana el desafío era sencillo, reorganizar y limpiar, o sea, pan comido, pero los que me conocen, saben que conmigo las cosas no son tan sencillas, siempre quiero ir un poco más y esta no fue la excepción, y ya que mi habitación realmente lo necesitaba decidí que pintar sería una buena idea.
Y es que quise aprovechar el impulso de la iniciativa para "obligarme" a salir de este trabajo que estuve retrasando por demasiado tiempo, ya que la pared luce cada vez peor justo en el área de la cabecera, ya que al no tenerla, yo, con mis ganchitos para recoger el cabello fui quitando la pintura cuando me recostaba en la pared, dando como resultado el daño que ven en las fotos, en donde por cierto, pueden ver todos los tonos de pintura que ha tenido este cuarto 🤣
En fin, la cosa es que para mí, organizar y limpiar todo dejando esa pared así me hacía demasiado ruido así que dije, vamos a pintar, compramos pinturas blanca y gris, porque ya que íbamos a pintar, quise dar un cambio a la habitación, esto sin tomar en cuenta muchos factores que cuando me activé con la pintura, me di cuenta que serían todo un problema.
Lo primero que no tomé en cuenta fueron los tonos que escogí, ya que los colores de mi habitación eran un poco complicados de cubrir, sobre todo el marrón, y esto nos lleva al segundo problema, pues para cubrir ese color, necesitaría "matar" un poco el color marrón sobre todo, con una pintura blanca, por lo que debía escoger una de muy buena calidad, o por lo menos calidad media, algo tipo B.
Pues, cuando fui toda emocionada (y con poco presupuesto 🤣) a comprar la pintura, no pensé para nada en lo que necesitaba, sino en lo que quería, y eso era una pintura blanca y otra gris que estuviesen a buen precio y olvidé por completo todo lo demás, incluido el alto de las paredes de mi habitación donde tres de ellas superan los 4 metros de altura y la otra debe estar pasando los 3, así que obviamente necesitaría más de un galón.
En fin, que me fui feliz con mis pinturas y comencé a mover todos los muebles de la habitación para hacer espacio y pintar, y fue justo ahí que me encontré con otro pequeño problema, y es que cuando retiré la mesita de noche y la cesta de la ropa sucia me di cuenta que la pared tenía un área bastante dañada por la humedad y por supuesto había que repararla, esto claro está que implicaría un retraso, sumado a todo lo demás que no tomé en cuenta.
Sin embargo, les cuento que inicié mi tarea toda positiva, solo para darme cuenta al poco tiempo que la pintura blanca no cubría bien ni siquiera el blanco arena que tenían tres de las paredes, cosa que por supuesto retrasaría todo porque no necesitaría una capa como yo pensaba sino más capas.
Por otro lado, olvidé por completo que mi esposo trabaja todas las mañanas y que al ser las paredes tan altas necesitaría la escalera y a mí me da terror usarla, por lo que necesitaba su ayuda y al estar limitado su tiempo, pues ahí tenemos otro factor de retraso.
Por supuesto, como lo esperaba, el galón de pintura se acabó y las paredes no lucían blancas, sino un tono bien raro entre beige y blanco, así que no había de otra, tuvimos que comprar una nueva pintura calidad tipo B para poder continuar. Por suerte pudimos cubrir perfectamente todo lo que debía ser blanco con una sola capa, y ¿adivinen? Esta vez sí quedó blanca.
Con respecto a la pared marrón, se le dio una capa de pintura blanca para poder aplicar la gris, ya que la probamos previamente sobre el marrón y pues no cubría nada. Así que para evitar más retrasos y apurar un poco las cosas, el día de ayer se hizo ese trabajo y hoy bien temprano me dispuse a pintarla. De hecho, cuando José salió a llevar a Miranda al colegio me instalé a pintar y logré darle la primera capa de gris a la pared hasta donde mi altura me lo permitió.
Ya nos queda parte de la tarde para tratar de terminar todo lo que es pintura, y ver si mañana logro organizar y limpiar para armar mi post del desafío, si no, pues definitivamente ya me tocará dejar desierto el desafío 2 pero continuaré con el reto y me uno al tercer desafío, así que no pasa nada, seguimos trabajando para dejar el cuarto lo más cercano a lo que deseo porque hay cositas que van a demorar un poquito más.
Por lo pronto este en un avance por si no logro culminar y poner en orden la habitación para mañana. Hoy hemos adelantado bastante, pero tuvimos que hacer una pausa, pues Miranda tenía clases de lenguaje musical, así que vamos al ritmo que nos permite nuestro día a día, pero avance es avance.

And is that I wanted to take advantage of the momentum of the initiative to "force myself " to get out of this job that I was delaying for too long, since the wall looks worse and worse just in the area of the headboard, since not having it, I, with my little hooks to collect the hair went removing the paint when I was leaning on the wall, resulting in the damage you see in the pictures, where by the way, you can see all the shades of paint that has had this room 🤣
Anyway, the thing is that for me, organizing and cleaning everything leaving that wall like that made too much noise so I said, let's paint, we bought white and grey paints, because since we were going to paint, I wanted to give a change to the room, this without taking into account many factors that when I got active with the paint, I realized that they would be quite a problem.
The first thing I didn't take into account were the tones I chose, since the colors of my room were a bit complicated to cover, especially the brown, and this brings us to the second problem, because to cover that color, I would need to "kill " a little bit the brown color above all, with a white paint, so I had to choose a very good quality, or at least medium quality, something B type.
Well, when I went all excited (and with little budget 🤣) to buy the paint, I did not think at all about what I needed, but what I wanted, and that was a white paint and a gray paint that were at a good price and I completely forgot everything else, including the height of the walls of my room where three of them exceed 4 meters high and the other must be passing the 3, so obviously I would need more than a gallon.
Anyway, I left happy with my paints and started to move all the furniture in the room to make room and paint, and it was right there that I found another little problem, and that is that when I removed the bedside table and the laundry basket I realized that the wall had an area quite damaged by moisture and of course it had to be repaired, this of course would involve a delay, plus everything else that I did not take into account.
However, I tell you that I started my task all positive, only to realize soon after that the white paint did not cover well even the sand white that three of the walls had, which of course would delay everything because it would not need one coat as I thought but more coats.
On the other hand, I completely forgot that my husband works every morning and since the walls are so high he would need the ladder and I am terrified to use it, so I needed his help and since his time was limited, there we have another delay factor.
Of course, as I expected, the gallon of paint ran out and the walls did not look white, but a very strange tone between beige and white, so there was no other way, we had to buy a new type B quality paint to be able to continue. Luckily we were able to perfectly cover everything that should have been white with just one coat, and guess what? This time it was white.
Regarding the brown wall, it was given a coat of white paint to be able to apply the gray, since we previously tested it on the brown and it did not cover anything. So to avoid further delays and to hurry things up a bit, yesterday that work was done and today I decided to paint it very early in the morning. In fact, when Jose left to take Miranda to school I settled down to paint and managed to give the first coat of gray to the wall as far as my height allowed me.
We have part of the afternoon left to try to finish all the painting, and see if tomorrow I can organize and clean up to put together my challenge post, if not, I will definitely leave challenge 2 deserted but I will continue with the challenge and join the third challenge, so nothing happens, we continue working to leave the room as close to what I want because there are little things that will take a little longer.
For now this is a preview in case I don't manage to finish and put the room in order for tomorrow. Today we have made a lot of progress, but we had to make a pause because Miranda had musical language classes, so we are going at the pace that our day to day life allows us, but progress is progress.
