Hello, friends at Hive and Home Solutions, how is everyone? I’m fine, though I’ve been a bit short on time because of work, but I wanted to tell you about a kitchen essential we bought a few days ago at the homeware shop Mango Bajito. It’s a set of chopping boards, but they’re very different from the ones you usually find in shops—the thick wooden or plastic ones—because these are very thin and seem to be in fashion, as they were the ones most commonly available.

Yo bien pero con poco tiempo por el trabajo, pero quería contarles de una compra necesaria para la cocina que hicimos hace unos días en la tienda para el hogar Mango Bajito. Es un juego de tablas para cortar, pero unas muy distintas a las que uno generalmente encontraba en las tiendas que son las gruesas de madera o plástico, porque éstas son muy delgadas y parece que están de moda porque era de las que más había.
My wife had been wanting to buy one of those sets of chopping boards for a while now – the ones that come in a set with several different sizes, so you can use a separate one for each thing and avoid cross-contamination when cooking. Rosa really wanted that, especially as the one we had was getting rather old.
Well, friends, it turns out that last week my wife went with her friend

Desde hace tiempo que mi esposa quería comprar de estas tablas que vienen como en combo y como vienen varias en diferentes tamaños porque se puede usar una para cada cosa y evitar la contaminación cruzada cuando se cocina y Rosa quería eso, además que la que teníamos ya estaba vieja.

The set includes three cutting boards of different sizes in grey, each in a different shade of grey. They’re made from a firm, thin material with a textured surface for a better grip when chopping, and they can be folded, which is handy for transferring what you’ve chopped straight into the frying pan or saucepan.
These boards have many good points: firstly, the price, as three boards for $5 is excellent; secondly, as there are three of them, they can be used for different things. We use the large one for meat, the medium one for vegetables and the smallest one for fruit and cold meats; they are easy to wash and dry very quickly. The only thing I don’t like is that the underside isn’t non-slip, but my wife sorted that out by putting a bit of silicone on the corners underneath.

El combo trae tres tablas de tamaños diferentes en color gris, cada una con un tono diferente de gris y es de un material que es firme y delgado con la superficie rugosa para un mejor agarre a la hora de cortar y se puede doblar cosa que es útil para echar lo que se corta directamente a a la sartén u olla.
Estas tablas tienen muchas cosas positivas, primeramente el precio porque tres tablas por 5$ está muy bien, en segundo lugar cómo son 3 se pueden usar para distintas cosas. Nosotros dejamos la grande para la carnes, la mediana para vegetales y la más chiquita para frutas y charcutería, se lavan con facilidad y se secan con mucha rapidez. Lo único que no me gusta es que la parte de abajo no es antiresbalanre pero mi esposa lo arregló con un poquito de silicon que le puso por debajo en las esquinas.
Another thing I like is that they have a hole in one corner for hanging them up, and my wife, who’s very creative, took the circular plastic ring that held the boards in the packaging and stuck it to the kitchen splashback using cold silicone—so now the boards are hanging there, ready to hand.

Otra cosa que me gusta es que traen un hueco en un esquina para colgarlas y mi esposa que es muy creativa agarró el plástico circular que sostenía las tablas en el empaque y lo pegó con silicón frío en el salpicadero de la cocina y ahí están colgadas las tablas a la mano para usarlas.
