Let's see, first of all I must clarify that I am not a defender of anything, I do not speak nor will I speak of politics. Those topics are useless to discuss because they depend on interests far above anyone who thinks they know anything about them.
Cuba is certainly a country with lots of problems of all kinds. Lacks of many, many things, some simple and others very serious. Whose fault is it is also irrelevant, guilt will not help anyone either.
I also clarify that I am Cuban and that I also live here, in the center of the problem. Because it is very easy to shout from afar and demand from afar. I am not taking away anyone's rights, but whoever is no longer here has no vote for me. Long live your luck to leave Cuba quietly in your other place.
90% of the things that people know about what is happening in Cuba is false or disproportionately exaggerated. Yes, there have been protests. Yes, there have been riots and some violent acts. But things are not remotely as the international news says.
And I am not being guided by the supposed "manipulated" press and television. I repeat that I live here, in the center of everything. I live in the capital city of the Ciego de Avila province. I have no evidence from other provinces, but I can assure you that nothing is happening in my city. I have been working in the mornings for two days (only in the morning because of the Covid) with total normality. And yesterday, I went out to some markets in the morning to buy some food and everything is normal on the street. People queuing to buy things and walking normally through the streets.
Not everything is rosy, of course. The situation with the covid is really complicated. There is a lack of food, medicine, there are more and more restrictions due to the pandemic and hospitals are in serious trouble. That's true.
But that situation that is being talked about internationally that it seems that there is a civil war in Cuba is honestly laughable.
