Hi, friends!
Intercontinental rally challenge doesn't exist anymore and it was actual from 2006 until 2012 season. Looking at this, all the good things last short but we can't say that because now we have European Rally Championship which is just addition to the IRC (Intercontinental Rally Challenge).
IRC was founded for the cars built on Super 2000 rules with atmospheric engines of 2000ccm and four wheel drive. Looking at that screaming beasts which were faster then Production Mitsubishi and Subaru group N cars of that time, I can't forget how unpredictable that battles were.
There were many factory teams involved in the series with the S2000 machinery and the first champion was Giandomenico Basso with Fiat Grande Punto S2000, one of the first homologated S2000 cars which was also tested by Colin McRae in 2004.
Lat two championships were won by Andreas Mikkelsen behind a wheel of Škoda Fabia S2000.
Looking at big picture Škoda and Peugeot share the same number of won championships, each manufacturer three won championships.
Watch this piece of history and enjoy...
