Hyundai Motorsport got exactly what they needed for the last round of this year's World Rally Championship - the win. Yeah, they had really terrible season but if their team boss plays that way, it couldn't be better, unfortunately. At least they brought a new guy for WRC operations - Andrew Wheatley and it will probably bring some fruit from this move.
To be honest, healthy fruits are already here for Hyundai with this win. OK, Toyota guys had to clean the roads for two days so that made job easier for Hyundai drivers but Adrien Fourmaux was so close to the first win but humans are humans and this time his co-driver made a mistake and checked in into the time control a minute earlier which brought them one minute penalty and the win was lost.
Yeah, his team mate and 2024 WRC champion Thierry Neuville won this rally while Fourmaux finished 2nd overall with sour face after huge disappointment. Ott Tanak finished this event 11th (after SUper Rally) which was his last event for a while. Rest of the behind a close doors action can be seen in this video.
