Hi, friends!
British Rally Championship used to be one of the best sport series in the world but these days it looks quite poor if you ask me. I can't believe that they don't have more competitors with the homologated cars then fifteen which is the number of finished crews at the end of rally.
I remember when all the F2 kit car works teams were competing there because of the tough competition but these days you can't find that case.
Some of the big names must sponsor events just to make the championship running so you have Malcolm Wilson Rally (head of M-Sport Ford). Lat year we had Nicky Grist Stages (famous co-driver Colin McRae and Juha Kankkunen) but this year there is no an event called like this probably he noticed that there will be enough event ran to have a championship int the first place.
So the current works WRC2 driver from M-Sport Adrien Fourmaux scored comfortable win with almost a minute ahead of 2nd placed Irishman Keith Cronin who was again with his Volkswagen Polo R5. Just to remind you that Fourmaux drove Ford Fiesta Rally2 because he is demoted for this season from A team because of constant crashes.
Elliot Payne finished 3rd overall in another Ford Fiesta Rally2 and it seems that this is very popular car in the Great Britain. Greek privateer Jourdain Serderidis was the only driver with the Rally1 machinery but he couldn't finish higher from the 9th overall. He didn't have his usual co-driver Frederic Miclotte. This time it was his friend Gregoire Munster in the navigator seat.
It was an interesting event held on gravel but covered with ice and snow which reminded us on once famous Network Q RAC Rally which was part of the World Rally Championship back in a time.
