Japanese rally star Takamoto Katsuta took his first win for Toyota, and at probably hardest gravel event of the season - Safari Rally Kenya.
I always say let the best win, but at this event, it was the most lucky guy won the rally because all the top guys - Oliver Solberg, Seb Ogier and Elfyn Evans (all Toyota) retired yesterday because of the tech problems (also rejoined today under Super Rally rules). So that gave Katsuta big chance for his first WRC win.
And he did it. He is really nice person and always tried his best. And now it finally paid off. He finished at the highest step of a podium, in front of Adrien Fourmaux (Hyundai) and Sami Pajari (Toyota) who finished 2nd and 3rd.
Esapekka Lappi (Hyundai) finished 4th and WRC2 winner Robert Virves (Škoda) finished 5th overall. It was really great weekend to follow this rally. Great stuff.
