Shete Boka National Park was the stop where the photos for this blog were taken.
My son wanted to make a pile of bricks and because they were some sort of lava stones I said do it. His response : “ I make it beautiful mom!” funny because he doesn't know that the pile of rocks on Hive have any meaning, and I do!
It's 's community sign: #thoughtfuldailiypost .
The stones are in the logo and the banner. I am a fan from the beginning and when I told my son that wes has it in his logo he wanted to make a nice one for a blog for wes. So here we are, in shete boka national park and building stacks, don't worry we won't build bridges that's your mission on Hive,
With Shete Boka National Park, Curacao has a unique place for tourists on the windward side of the island to loose yourself
( I did ) in photography. Just everything is beautiful!
#amazingnature at it’s best.
This side of the island is not develloped because off-the-peg wind and rough nature. Possible because that is not possible but I like to think that it’s because the island and it’s people want to preserve the beauty and roughness created by the sea.
We took the pictures in Boka Pistol but there are 6 other places where there are parts of the rocks gone and make kinda like little holes ( well not so little ) where the water comes up, and the wave rolls away again. This coastal park is located in the north of Curaçao near the Christoffel Park.
We have a car so we drove there , but because of the heavy rain the roads were very very bad. Holes everywhere and we didn’t have a spare tyre, so it took us 20 minutes to reach the part of Boka Pistol.
You can feel the sea water splash as it hits the rocks. One spray soaked us but in this heat that was not bad at all, just the salt is the way to get really bad sunburn.
This was so impressive to see and after building with my youngest for this blog I was able to take a lot of beautiful photos with both the camera and the phone. Of course I will make a separate blog about it.
The rocks are not heavy it’s a bit like lava stones, and easy to stack.
This is my dedicated son , being Bob the Builder. Proud of the endresult later!
The open space and the view is amazing.
It’s also a moment to think about life. It’s like time stops and the warmth of the sun and the humidity from the sea waves is making all of us calm. There was a wooden platform and we stood there for like 45 minutes and just looked. Looked into the ocean and than again to the stone valley. I thought it looked like a valley.
It’s huge and if you look at the landscape it’s never ending, well it looks like it but it’s not, it still is a relatively small island.
Another tourist said this part of the island will always we without development of houses because of the terrain. I don’t know if this is true, and I checked online but there is nothing here to say if that’s correct or not. Maybe Hive knows!
This is the map with the roads you get when you enter the park. You have to pay for entrance and car, but you can also do hikes. The hikes are no do-able for us in 31 degrees Celsius and two young kids. Again the trail by car was ok , except for the bad dirt roads. Again we managed.
This was one of the highlights of Curaçao 🇨🇼 for us. I didn’t look up history I gone with the information at the counter and the map. So if there is a Dutch Caribbean hiver that know more, let me know. The fact that nature and water is such a big force and that water, salt water ofcourse can make this much of an impression is such a wow moment, it’s been a great day!
See you in the next adventure,
See ya in the comments !
