I must admit that I enjoy celebrating my birthday as much as I love celebrating that of others. I get all excited when it's about birthdays - whether it's mine or that of others.
While others may forget their birthdays, I don't. Why the heck will I? It's my special day, a day to celebrate and be celebrated - either on low key or grand style. Likewise, every other person deserves to be celebrated on their birthdays.
So it's a balance for me. Celebrating my birthday and that of others bring me joy.
But wait a sec, what better way to show self- love than by celebrating my own birthday?
Yes, I'm preaching self-love here. 😂
Celebrating my own birthday is a wonderful way to show myself some love, care, pampering, appreciation, and all that comes with it. It's a great day where I have another chance to reflect on how far I've come in life, my accomplishments, and then what next to come.
I love and enjoy all the attention, care, love, beautiful gifts and kind gestures from family, friends and colleagues on my birthday. Sometimes, I feel overwhelmed by the outpour of love, but I like it like that - it's just my inner drama queen shinning through. Lol
I may not always have the resources for a posh birthday celebration, but I often strive to make it a memorable day.
More so, celebrating someone else's birthday is another way to show appreciation and gratitude for the person they are and the impact they've had on my life. It's an opportunity to shower them with thoughtful gestures, letting them know they matter.
There's something special and heartwarming about seeing a loved one greening from ear to ear, with joy and excitement written on their faces as they mark another year of life, and I love being a part of that joy.
Presenting gift to my superior on her birthday
Sending heartfelt wishes, giving them beautiful gifts or special treats, and honoring invites to their celebrations, usually go a long way to add color to their special day.
I recall how thrilled and all joyful my niece was on one of her birthdays, when I took her to Kilimanjaro for a special treat, making her day extra special.
Anyone who gets to celebrate their birthday should feel grateful. It is a blessing.
In as much as birthdays are special days, to be happy and merry, it also remind us of the passage of time and the fragility of life. Not only that, birthdays is also a day of reflection - on the past year, a day to celebrate accomplishments, and look forward to the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.
That being said, whether it's someone else's birthday or my own, I believe that these celebrations offer us the chance to connect with others, strengthen bonds, and create lasting memoirs.
Finally,
They're a reminder that life is precious, and that every day is a gift worth cherishing.
