A man went to the river to commit suicide. A monk stopped him there. The monk asked, “Why are you committing suicide?” “Why are you so eager to die?” So the man said to the monk, “Maharaja, there is nothing left in my life now.” Everything has become useless, useless, everything keeps getting turned upside down. I didn't get what I wanted. I got what I didn't want. God is against me. So why should I live this life? So the monk said, "Just wait for a day, then die, why is there such a hurry." The monk said, "Don't you have anything?" He said, "Nothing. If I had something, why would I come to die?" The sage said, the king of this kingdom is known to me, let's go to him. The king welcomed the sage. The monk whispered something in the king's ear, and said to the man, "Look, the king is ready to give one lakh rupees for your eye, will you sell it?"

The man said, "No no, why should I sell the eye?", the monk said. The king is ready to give two lakhs for both the eyes. The man said, "No; even if I give you ten lakhs, I don't want to sell my eyes." So the monk again went to the king and came back and said to the man, "Look, the king is saying that he will buy both your ears for two lakh rupees." Are you ready to sell your ears? He said, "No, I don't want to sell my ears." The monk said, "Will you sell your nose? This king is ready to accept anything, tell me?" The man said, "Look brother, this is a business. We don't have to. Why should I sell? Then the saint said, "Look, this king is ready to give even ten lakh rupees for your eyes. Then calculate how much the remaining components can be. And you were going to die in the night, and used to say that I have nothing. It's like this brother, we can't see what we've got. Just look at these eyes, they are made of skin, but they show so much beauty, what a miracle they are. These ears are able to hear the sweet music, the beautiful voices of the birds, the tune of the winds, the noise of the ocean. These ears are made of only skin and bone, but look at the miracle. You are there, this is such a big miracle, can you imagine a bigger miracle than this? A beautiful lamp of consciousness is burning in this flesh and blood body, at least estimate its value.

But no, you wanted a job worth fifty thousand, you got it for twenty thousand, so you have to die, you wanted a big house, you got a small one, so you have to die. Was supposed to be a minister and became a deputy minister so I have to die. Drowned in business, bank account is empty, didn't get the woman he wanted. We did not get the man we wanted, now we will die. Friends, we will get as much sorrow as we want. But see, how much we have got without even desiring. And all this is priceless. What was the reason due to which we have got this life? What did we bring? What is the reason that I got to see the beauty of this creation. This is the power that I have got. We have received all this as Prasad. Friends, we have not created any of this. Then what right do we have to destroy this life? You have got everything, yet we are troubled. We are getting ruined in the desire of more wants. Still we become sad. The disease of ego is ruining us. Friends, we need a solution, we should move ahead with what we have got, do our duty honestly. Desire is never going to end. No matter how much we meet. That man understood.
