This article encourages everyone to keep their hopes alive even where there is no hope.
Having no sponsor, I never thought I would be able to go to higher Institution especially with the way things were going in my life.
I was working at a Law firm where my salary was always witheld from me and paid late, my then boss would owe me for a period of about three months and then pay for only one month, which I will have to be managing.
One day, I got admission into the University and when I informed him about it and asked him to give me part of my wages to pay my acceptance fee even before I pay the school fees and get reg number, he told me that he will not give me the money untill month end.
I got money from my friend who is a Medical Doctor working at the Teaching Hospital. I paid my acceptance fee and then it was time to pay my School fees, I applied for a scholarship and got one, the scholarship scheme covered my tuition fees to my final year.
I started my year one and I had to combine between working and schooling so I could feed myself, pay my house rent and other bills, although here in Nigeria, working and schooling can be very stressful.
Working duration over here is not on hourly rate, rather it is from 6:00am to 6:00pm at night and most times one could spend extra hours at the working place without being rewarded for it.
I missed most of my classes due to my work schedule and many times my boss scolded me for leaving work to attend lectures at school.
I finally quitted my job when I realized by CGPA was not in good shape at all by then I was in 200L and I did not want my school to give me a compulsory notice of withdrawal from the school.
I started working harder and started up a small petty trading, which I used in seeing myself through school. I defended my project last year and graduated without any issue or any cause for extra year.
