I head up north for an awesome snowboarding trip to...
Mammoth Mountain!!
So now that winter is here, and the mountains of California have a nice coating of snow, it was time to bust out the snowboard once again! And to kick off the season my mom and uncle invited me to join them on a week long skiing trip to Mammoth Mountain! Although the drive from my home to Mammoth is quite long, it's actually quite enjoyable as far as long drives go, and to get to ski such an awesome mountain makes it more than worth it.

Our first day on the mountain was a beautiful day. In fact, besides a little bit of wind, everyday there we had exceptional weather. I was a little nervous at first because I am still dealing with a messed up right knee, but once I was back on the board it's just like riding a bike, you don't forget. I did have to take it a bit easy. I didn't go quite as fast and I had to take quite a few more breaks than I used to. But I still thoroughly enjoyed myself and the extra breaks gave me an opportunity to enjoy some of the delicious craft brews from the Mammoth brewery.

It was a great week of snowboarding and now I am looking forward to more. I'm hoping to get up to Big Bear for a few days of boarding up there and then I'll be headed back to Mammoth next month!
