Talking about if I will leave or stay on Hive if rewards are no longer existing, got me thinking for a few minutes if I would not lie. I thought about it if I really would stay or not, and for every answer that pops out of my thoughts has a valid reason that comes along with it.
Funny enough, the first thing I got to say is "hell no I'm not staying" cos what prompted me to be on Hive in the first place was the fact that I can be writing and earning in return at the same time. I have the avenue to cater for myself with my earnings especially at the time when HBD was still existing as one of the pools for rewards (that was the most sweet moments I had on Hive lol) and it really got me to be proud of myself that not only am I earning in crypto but I am earning in dollars with what I write.
Do you know the kind of shoulder pad that realization comes with?
So not having that anymore or Hive itself as reward anymore kind of made me shut it down that I wouldn't continue. Considering how people do not even feel motivated to write unlike before just because hive price keeps dipping not to talk of not getting anything at all anymore.
But then I thought about it, if I could keep on writing and posting on web2 even when it was not yet established that it could be monetized, but the tendency to post and get huge likes and comments on your post makes one feel relevant and wanted made me keep doing more and staying consistent there, without been paid a penny then why can't I stay on Hive if there will be no rewards except for likes and comments like web2.
The only challenge might be adapting to the new realization of not earning anymore cos it's easier to cope with a "no-paying platform" you've always been on than trying to cope with "once a paying platform". The difference is huge.
In summary, in absence of rewards, I will still be on Hive, writing, but it might not be on a daily streak anymore.
I'll be dropping my 🖊️ here on the Hive student connect community
