Hive has been a daily interaction and a place to be for many users over time since coming on board. For one reason or another, many have become hooked on the blockchain to the point that it has become a kind of part of our lives. I say it so because people have built friendships and connections here, that go beyond even the major function the blockchain serves, which is to allow people create content, do other things, and yes, get rewarded for all that.
Here then, the prompt presents a big question, one that I believe we hope doesn't happen. Chuckles. “Would you still use Hive without rewards?” It's a big one, and I think it's okay to go down that lane of thought, at least personally. I find myself then considering, would Hive be worth the stay if the rewards were removed? I reckon that there are many benefits the blockchain offers; from learning and growth to connections. But the rewards are a major one.
I dare say that it's the major reason many joined the blockchain and the main motivation to keep showing up, though not overlooking the effects of other reasons as well on the motivation. Personally, the rewards were a major reason that got me into the blockchain, though I was advised to see beyond that. And even today, although the price of Hive is discouraging, the little rewards are an encouragement to keep showing up.
If the rewards on Hive were to be removed, I don't really see myself doing much and being this consistent. When you come from a place like my part of the world, you'd understand that one's efforts and time should count towards something profitable. Perhaps, not necessarily money. The energy and involvement won't be as they used to be in the event of the absence of rewards. We've seen how people left with the fall in Hive price. But it won't a bye bye from me.
I don't know, but it'll be hard for me to completely leave Hive. This is where I'll say that beyond the major motivation from the rewards, there's more that has kept me on Hive. With HBD taken away, with the current low price of Hive and its failure to rise, it's evident that those still active here at this time have gone beyond just the rewards-though little comes in-but have gotten hooked to the blockchain.
For reasons like the connections and friendships, growth and learning, some of the beautiful content and communities, engagement and interaction, I would find myself coming around here to check things and do some little activities. I've recently become interested in microblogging and it's getting my attention. Chuckles. For these reasons and maybe more, I would still come around, do some Hiving, but not as I used to.
