I love this topic because it happened to me like two weeks ago. When I decided to change location. I was so happy because where I was staying there was constant light, it takes only a few minutes for the light to be restored back even if they took the light so this time the transformer spoiled.
When light goes off that kind of way, you will be thinking of months for it to be restored. At first I thought of what to do, there wasn't any hope of light soon. My biometrics were the next week and I made it by next week. After that day, the next day two of my power banks got drained.
I had few bars and the light came with lots, no water of course so I zoomed off and travelled thinking I will escape the power outrage.
After four days I came back for my biometrics yet the light wasn't restored yet thankfully a generous man around my area opened up a tap just right outside my gate. It was a relief and I won't start thinking of where to get water.
Another problem is where to charge my phone, there wasn't any charging center around and due to I'm new, I didn't know many people around so I was so frustrated. My hive business was on the line and not just that it's so boring not being with my phone, not pressing it at all.
One night my phone was down and it was just me counting the ceiling. It was my longest night, I wasn't feeling sleepy at all and I was bored to the last but later I slept off. Since my phone was down I couldn't check the time and my only means to know the time is using the weather.
The hardest thing to lose first is light. I used a hot plate to cook so I'm forced to buy a gas cylinder and my phone was dead too. It will be so boring staying without my phone. Next will be water but there will always be an alternative either to get from a close neighborhood for the meantime or using rain water to substitute.
My alternative when the light went off was to find a place to charge my power bank. Though a friend later helped me out by charging my power bank and returning them in the evening but had that feeling of seeing your battery run down and no alternative to charge. Most times I do the most important things I need to do online then off my data and wait till the next day and do the same routine. That was how I survived for the meantime.
When I'm not pressing my phone then I'm forcing myself to sleep. That was the habit I developed to sleep more and yeah it was an opportunity for me because I hardly sleep most times so it was an opportunity for me to sleep as much as I want but luckily the light was restored after two weeks.
It was my longest two weeks.
