We all know how stressful school can be, but the funny thing is that before admission, we always pray to gain admission, and when we finally get it, the joy is overwhelming, full of celebration and excitement. After matriculation, the morning classes, practicals, afternoon and evening lectures begin. For those who love night classes, the routine continues even at night, and the stress becomes more intense. At some point, we become reluctant to attend lectures and start selecting the ones to go for. By the time we reach year three, when the stress, expenses, and other challenges increase, we begin to pray for the session to end quickly so we can graduate.
Despite all these, there are still some beautiful days when we dress well, take pictures, and have fun, while other days are completely draining. Most of these were the experiences I also went through as a student, but the joy comes after graduation when you look back at those old pictures you took during your school days and laugh with happiness because they bring back both good and bad memories.
My first photo was taken during one of our workshop practice sessions. Could you believe we spent money to buy kits, workshop tools, workbooks, coveralls, safety boots, helmets, tapes, and saws, and also paid to register for the workshop practice course, attended classes, and wrote exams, only for our department to later tell us that we were not supposed to offer that particular course, that it was another practical in the physics laboratory we were meant to do? It was so annoying, but did we have a say? No. The stress, time, and expenses were what really pained us.
The second picture was taken after our microteaching presentation, and it was fun. Looking back at most of these photos encourages me to keep pushing because it can only get better. It might be stressful, but success is always sure.
