Basic amenities like food, water, clothing are very essential because without any of them, there won't be smooth running of daily activities. Electricity is very essential in our every day life today because virtually everything revoles around it's usage. Cooking, electrical gadgets like fan, bulb, 📱 phones , laptop etc. But in my area, where there isn't steady electricity, I think I can manage for a month. I'll simply have to adjust by getting a quality battery- powered torch. I have my power bank to charge my phone, or I will have to get a bigger one, 50000mAh. Sometimes the power bank comes with torch too, it can serve both purposes. I will get an affordable standby generator for power purposes.
Water is something I believe I can't stay without. If I don't have water for a whole month, a lot will change. I'll look for alternatives. Firstly sachet water is always available in our area, sold at N400 a bag. I will definitely get sachet water for drinking, probably bathing as well. But that won't be funny, I swear, because I will spend a lot of money and efforts in getting "water". So, I can adjust to getting water from the nearby boreholes or tap. I really can go far just to get water because it's really a basic amenity.
If gas is taken away from me for a month, I'll be able to adjust. It can't be taken away from food sellers as well 😂. I will change my routine of cooking fresh food, which I actually love to buying food from food sellers, eateries, restaurants. I will also take plenty fruits to balance my meals. Processed food like bread, snacks can also go for me. Alternatively, I can use the local firewood to cook. Those times when our gas finishes,we always have standby firewood in case of emergency. I think it's sold at N500 per bundle. So I can use firewood to cook when I can't bear to eat processed food or from eateries anymore.
