Good day, people of Hive! Welcome to my blog. Today’s topic is from Hive Student Connect, which says:A Moment of Embarrassment You’ll Always Remember. So let’s dive in.
Honestly, I have a lot of embarrassing moments in my life, starting from secondary school to my present university days. I have once shared one of my embarrassing moments before—how I mistakenly farted in class one day while presenting in front of the whole class, but I would love to share this particular one because sometimes, whenever I remember that incident, I always laugh at myself for the embarrassment. It still baffles me how it happened.
It was a faithful afternoon, and I was in SS3 then. Our CRS teacher called me to her office because we were having her class at that time. She likes me so much, and whenever she can’t write on the chalkboard, she usually calls me or our head boy, Feranmi, to help her write. But most times, I am the one she calls. Meanwhile, before going to school that day, because our school uniform for senior girls consists of a skirt, shirt, and jacket (black skirt and brown shirt with small black patterns), I wore a short pant under my skirt. If only I knew it would disgrace me, I wouldn’t have worn it.
So back to my story, after meeting her and collecting the note from our teacher, I went back to the class and started writing on the board. Maybe about an hour later, the next thing I knew was that the short pant fell in the class. Come and see how everyone, including the guys, burst into laughter and started making jest of me. It was so embarrassing that I had to drop the notes and ran to our spare room where we usually keep cutlasses and brooms in the corridor. I waited there until the closing bell rang. CRS was our last subject that day, and as if the Lord was on my side, it was Friday. I couldn’t go back to the class or attend fellowship because of the embarrassment. I had to beg one of my friends to help me carry my bag. I removed the short pant, put it inside my bag, and left for home.
Honestly, I cried after getting home because I was living with my uncle then, and I kept thinking about how I would face them in school on Monday. Even after getting to school on Monday, they were still laughing at me, but I wasn’t as embarrassed as I was on the day it actually happened.
In conclusion, since that day, I always make sure I check any short pant very well to see if it won’t embarrass me again before going to school because I can’t afford such a thing to happen twice.
This is my entry for the Hive Student Connect Week 26 New Prompt.
