Let's face it, creative blocks are a real challenge for many of us; even the best of writers or geniuses go through this more often than we can imagine, whether they admit it or not. Personally, I have come to realize that what triggers this for me is usually when I am anxious or under pressure of any kind. This usually happens whenever I am feeling overwhelmed or stuck; my mind most times just goes blank, and even the simplest tasks seem insurmountable to me. It usually feels like I am hitting a wall, where no matter how hard I try to push through, nothing seems to work.

A few weeks ago I had a presentation to prepare with some of my friends, and I knew exactly what I wanted to say. So all I needed to do was just jot down my thoughts and organize them in a way that would make sense during the presentation. However, because of the tight deadline that I had, and also because I had to multitask other things that needed my attention, suddenly I found myself struggling to pen down anything meaningful. The more I tried to force it, the more frustrated I became. My mind and thoughts were not cooperating; it was as if my mind was frozen, and I couldn't remember anything.
That's when I realized I needed to take a step back, take a deep breath, and calm down. So I decided to let go of the task for the time being, till the following day, even though I knew I needed to get it done ASAP. But here's the thing, the next time I was feeling more relaxed and when i was not actively thinking about the presentation, ideas started popping into my head. I even wrote down better quality and more than what I needed and expected. Just like I just stated, here's what works for me whenever I am feeling stuck
Taking a deep breath and relaxing: This has worked for me over time; it helps calm my mind and reduces any kind of anxiety I feel.
Taking a break: I sometimes give myself time to unwind and recharge again. This has helped me stimulate myself and creativity.
Engaging in relaxing activities: Watching movies or comedy content or going for a walk to distract my mind is also another way for me to allow ideas to flow more freely.
