Hive: Hello.
Me: Hello.
Hive: Who are you?
Me: Michael.
Hive: Is that all you wish to tell me about yourself?
Me: Yes.
Hive: There are thousands of Michaels in this universe. So, before I kick you out of here, WHO ARE YOU?
Me: As earlier said, I'm Michael. I have one head and two eyes. I also have two ears.
Hive: Really? You're intolerable!
Me: Yeah, I know.
Hive: What brought you here?
Me: Blogging. I actually learnt about Hive through a friend from another blogging site. He promoted a wonderful article he published here on Hive so, I checked it out. The article was so engaging that I wished to comment. That was when I hit a roadblock - I had to register.
Hive: For you to be here that shows you registered.
Me: Yes, but it was punishing. It took me several days to get it right. Each time I tried, the prompt was always "ip quality score is low." I nearly gave up till I got it right.
Hive: What did you change that helped you get it right?
Me: I honestly do not know. It was just like a miracle, and my joy was indescribable when I finally landed a Hive account. It was pure ecstasy.
Hive: Now that you are here, what do you have to offer?
Me: Even though I have a whole lot to offer, I won't duel on that for now. I have a lot to learn and this platform looks just like the perfect place for learning. I've read a couple articles that have richly blessed me already. I've also commented on a couple articles I enjoyed.
Hive: Is this your first article?
Me: No.
Hive: So, you broke protocol. How dare you post on a new platform without introducing yourself.
Me: Forgive my manners. I was just so excited I finally got an account that I forgot this highly important part. After realizing my mistake, I am trying to rectify that now.
Hive: Rectify that? You're a joker. How are you doing that when all you've said about yourself is that you're some Michael with one head, two eyes and two ears?
Me: I do actually have two eyes.
Hive: Oh, yeah? I thought you have four, you silly one.
Me: So, I'm a dude with a big passion for sports; football, basketball, wrestling, boxing, martial arts, tennis, motorsports, rugby, just to name a few. I write a lot about my passion too, so you'll be seeing a lot of me in the sports communities. Also, I'm an environmental scientist, environmental chemist to be precise. I already checked out the Education community and wasn't overwhelmingly impressed. I will definitely be contributing towards there too.
Hive: Of all the sports listed above, which one is your favourite?
Me: I grew up in a place where football (soccer) is like a religion. It brings joy and gladdens the heart. It also helped me escape the harsh reality of my environment back then. So football is my favourite, though I've grown to love other sports. I really do enjoy basketball and tried participating, but a 5'7" dude shouldn't be messing around on a basketball court. I've watched a lot of Formula 1 in the last 10 years also.
Hive: Skills? Experiences?
Me: Oh, skills, yeah. Firstly, I'm an active sportsperson. I recently worked with a football academy where we train players for the senior team. The program was scrapped when Covid infiltrated our finances and the management couldn't sponsor both the senior team and the academy. Aside from my interest in sports, I'm a transcriber. Also, I'm currently undergoing an online course to be a virtual assistant. It's not going too well due to many priorities.
Experience? There is a lot to share. Recently, I worked as a Chemistry teacher in a High School. It was a challenging situation for me, those kids were very scared of Chemistry. And that's because Chemistry is a pure practical subject, but they've been taught theory all their lives. Just imagine explaining Chemical Bonding to a teenager theoretically. I had to quit because the school wouldn't provide the equipment and reagents necessary for effective teaching. Also, I've been a transcriber and reviewer since 2019.
Hive: How do you spend your free time?
Me: I spend a lot of it arguing and discussing sports across several platforms. I also play games a lot, especially whenever I'm stressed. A lot of my work involves reading, so I don't bother to read during free time. I listen to music also, and my musical taste is incredibly wide. I grew up listening to hardcore rap. My dad, who is a big reggae fan, influenced my interest in reggae. That was all I knew till I watched Lost and Smallviille, two series where a lot of rock songs were played. I delved into the world of rock and roll, and I've never regretted it. Now, I listen to virtually every song that appeals to me but I still follow rap songs and artists more than those of the other niches.
Hive: Finally, any life goals?
Me: The chorus of this song Hall of Fame by The Script ft Will.I.Am always plays on my mind. It goes,
"Standin’ in the Hall of Fame
And the world’s gonna know your name
‘Cause you burn with the brightest flame
And the world’s gonna know your name
And you’ll be on the walls of the Hall of Fame."
Those are the exact words that encapsulates my life goals.
Hive: You are welcome to Hive, Michael. See you around.
Me: Thanks. See you around.
Regards to @Olawalium and for the tips when I was struggling to create an account and the delegation. Thank you, brothers.
PS: I would've love to add pictures but it's not really my thing.
