Who Am I
Demographics
I'm a 70-year-old single woman living (for now) in Bali.
I retired almost 3 years ago from an almost 40-year career in software engineering, primarily dealing with data: databases, data analysis, data engineering, data science.
I took a "gap year" and traveled on a 12-month Remote Year program with 33 other people. We spent each month in a different country: Portugal, Croatia, Czech Republic,
Morocco, Vietnam, Thailand, Japan, Malaysia (except I came to Bali instead), Chile, Peru, Colombia, and Mexico.
I returned to Bali in January 2020 to spend.a few months, and got "stuck" here by covid. Not a bad place to wait out the pandemic.
Fiber Artist
I am an artist, primarily in the fiber arts. When I had roots, I created art quilts: quilts intended to be wall hangings or such, rather than functional pieces to keep one warm. I especially like mixing media/embellishments ("goopy stuff" one of my instructors called it). Here is a photo of one of my favorite pieces. It is about 8" square.
All of that is packed away in a small storage space in Colorado since I started traveling. I've turned to knitting as my creative outlet - primarily shawls. This Slipstravaganza shawl was designed by Stephen West, and uses yarn from Fierce Fibers and Expression Fiber Arts
Aquatic Bodywork
When I was in Bali during my Remote Year, I was blessed to have a transformative aquatic bodywork experience. It was what drew me back to Bali in January 2020. Not much of that happened in the early months of covid. However, starting in September, I was able to start taking classes. This is my heart work. I experience such love and presence as a giver, and utter bliss as a receiver.
Spiritual Eclectic
I have been a lifelong seeker, studying various spiritual traditions and have sort of arrived at a mashup. Not seeking so much anymore, but still exploring.
One current interest is Human Design (2/4 Splenic Projector, Quad Right). I am learning to live more from intuition and guidance and less from what "the experts" say. Even the Human Design experts!
Another one is the Akashic Records. I'm just getting into this so will likely have more to write about this in the future.
Why Am I Here?
I came to hive via Splinterlands, and it is still where I engage the most frequently.
My second foray was in Actifit. I have set activity goals, and am committed to posting a daily report.
Also will be exploring other communities and writing some blog posts when I can tear myself away from Splinterlands!
All photos, except the Aquatic Bodywork photo, were taken by me with my iPhone XR. It was taken by a classmate with my iPhone XR
