Hello everyone, how are you? I hope you're well. I recently finished reading Chilldfree and Happy. This book is written by Victoria Tunggono. It draws on a woman's personal experiences, no longer thinking about one thing being right or wrong. It no longer focuses on society.
Whether we admit it or not, chilldfree has become a taboo topic in Indonesia. In fact, personal decisions can offend many people. This book reveals that women struggle with their choices, including choosing to chilldfree. They face stigma, and sometimes even curse words.
I feel like this book is saying that the world remains unfair to women. For me, women have the freedom to choose their bodies and lives. In this book, the author reveals that many prominent figures, both internationally and in Indonesia, have embraced chilldfree. And it's been around for a long time, so why is this choice being criticized today?
The book also reveals that chilldfree isn't a current trend. In this book, the author also reveals that love and responsibility can be expressed in other ways. There are many orphans and fatherless children who currently need love. This is emphasized by the author at the end of the book.
Another thing, I forgot to explain at the beginning of my writing. Being chill-free is caused by many factors. One of them is psychological and medical. We can't oppose medical issues, perhaps it could be called health. Women's health. That's also something that needs to be emphasized as to why women choose to chill-free.
Finally, I liked the author's story of living happily with her mother. Despite all the ridicule from those around her about her choice to go chill-free, the author's happiness lies in the open acceptance of her parents. Therefore, she feels supported in her choice.
Again, from this book, I learned that a woman's choices are absolute for her and her life. We should never question these choices. Women are free to make any choice in their lives. That's all I can share in this book. What do you think?
