En mi país hemos tenido que volvernos expertos en meteorología, debido a los fenómenos que hemos experimentado en los últimos años que han amenazado la posición privilegiada de nuestra nación, que en el pasado nunca se vio afectada por el paso de huracanes, pero ahora las ondas tropicales hacen estragos. Se que para los ciudadanos de otros países es muy normal estar atentos a los pronósticos del clima, en la mayoría de los casos suelen ser muy acertados, y eso les permite tomar precauciones.

Esto ha provocado que los pronósticos climáticos sean mas certeros, las aplicaciones más precisas, incluso las instituciones encargadas de monitorear el clima en nuestra nación han evolucionado apoyándose en base de datos de carácter mundial, brindando así información mas veraz. Tal es el caso del INAMEH o Instituto Nacional de Meteorología e Hidrología, que ahora tiene presencia en todas las redes sociales para que podamos acceder a la información sobre el clima con mayor facilidad.

Esto fue motivo de alarma porque solo unos días atrás habíamos experimentados fuertes lluvias por el paso de una tormenta tropical que dejo muchos daños en varias ciudades del país como Tejerías, dejando varias familias damnificadas y personas fallecidas de las cuales aun no se tiene una cifra exacta.

Esta catástrofe conmociono al país, pero realmente han sido muchas las zonas afectadas, no ha habido una ciudad del norte del país que no haya sufrido inundaciones o desborde de ríos y quebradas, lo que ha provocado que estemos más alertas, pero nuestras actividades diarias deben continuar, así que ese domingo me dispuse a cumplir con mis deberes eclesiásticos, teniendo presente que al final del día tendríamos lluvias o ráfagas de viento, pronostico que no fallo y a las 9 de la noche empezó una especie de tormenta que me dificulto el regreso a casa, porque la visibilidad fue escasa.

El servicio eléctrico fue interrumpido de forma abrupta, pensamos que por precaución fue quitado, y así pasamos toda la noche sin energía eléctrica y con un clima lluvioso que ceso en horas de la madrugada. El día lunes nos levantamos para iniciar nuestra semana, a pesar de la mala noche que sufrimos, preparamos a los niños para llevarlos al colegio aun sin servicio eléctrico. Al salir de casa nos encontramos la razón de porque aún no teníamos electricidad, un gran árbol con mas de 30 años cayo por causa de los fuertes vientos y tumbo parte del tendido eléctrico.

Árbol caído afecto tendido eléctrico
Lamentamos mucho la perdida de este árbol porque es frutal y brindo de sus frutos por años a los habitantes de nuestra urbanización, pero pese a la perdida estamos muy agradeciendo que cayo hacia ese sentido de la calle y no el otro, porque de ser así, hubiese afectado las casas causando posibles pérdidas materiales o de vida humanas. Gracias a Dios esto no trascendió y el servicio eléctrico pudo ser restablecido en horas de la tarde, el árbol fue retirado quedando solo sus restos que algunos aprovecharan.
We are very sorry for the loss of this tree because it is a fruit tree and has provided fruit for years to the inhabitants of our urbanization, but despite the loss we are very grateful that it fell in that direction of the street and not the other, because if it had fallen, it would have affected the houses causing possible loss of property or human life. A pesar del mal rato que nos dejo esta experiencia, mi familia y yo estamos aprendiendo a estar más atentos al clima y que no nos tome desprevenidos, es cierto que las catástrofes llegan sin avisar y no sabemos que nos deparan, como lo que están viviendo nuestros hermanos en la ciudad de Tejerías en el Estado Aragua, sin embargo, esta situación nos invitan a tener una mínima preparación, quizás un bolso de emergencia con algo de alimentos, medicinas y dinero, para que podamos solventar en el momento. Es claro que aun nos falta mucho por aprender, espero que no sea tarde porque cada vez más el mundo sufre cambios y no precisamente para bien.
In spite of the bad time that this experience left us, my family and I are learning to be more attentive to the weather and not to be taken unawares, it is true that catastrophes come without warning and we do not know what they have in store for us, like what our brothers are experiencing in the city of Tejerías in Aragua State, however, this situation invites us to have a minimum preparation, perhaps an emergency bag with some food, medicine and money, so that we can pay for it at the moment. It is clear that we still have a lot to learn, I hope it is not too late because more and more the world is undergoing changes and not exactly for the better.
