This 2022 is coming to an end, uff year, that someone at random, may remember as a heavy and languid road; others perhaps, as a year of festivity and life. All according to the side that touched us to live. I WANT THEN IN THIS LAST POST OF 2022 TO THE NOBLE ACTION OF THANKING AND SHARING THIS BEAUTIFUL MOMENT. THAT WAS AND WILL BE, WITHOUT A DOUBT, A MEMORABLE CHRISTMAS WITH MY FAMILY AND MY GIRLFRIEND.
Este fin de 2022, decidí tomar un nuevo rumbo y uno muy peculiar, visité un pequeño pueblo en el cual viven actualmente parte de mis ascendientes. El pueblo se llama MANTUA, en la provincia de Pinar del Río, de Cuba. Esta ubicado en la costa noroeste de la provincia con una población de 26 000 habitantes, y poco mas 908,86 km2 para una densidad de 27 habitantes por km2. En fin, un pequeño pueblo con arquitectura campesina típica: techos de guano, paredes de yagua, pisos de tierra. Y en la parte urbana casas coloniales de ladrillo de barro rojo y tejas, de gran altura y ventanas de balostres.
This end of 2022, I decided to take a new direction and a very peculiar one, I visited a small town where part of my ancestors currently live. The town is called MANTUA, in the province of Pinar del Rio, Cuba. It is located on the northwest coast of the province with a population of 26 000 inhabitants, and a little more than 908.86 km2 for a density of 27 inhabitants per km2. Pero que extraordinaria experiencia vivimos, en un lugar tan apartado y tan lejano de la tecnología, tienen una rica tradición de celebrar las festividades cristianas en un templo ubicado en el casco urbano.
El cual visité en la noche del 24 de diciembre de 2022, en la religión cristiana conocida como misa del gallo o misa de medianoche, en la que se espera el nacimiento de Jesucristo el Hijo de Dios.

Fuimos juntos, y nunca imaginé, que fuera tan renovador del ánimo, celebrar y agradecer, por lo hermoso y lo maravilloso de la vida. Y de eso trata la navidad de reconciliar y sentirnos en el calor del amor.
A veces y se que nos pasa a todos, en cosas pequeñas encontramos la paz y la fuerza para poder enfrentarnos a este día a día, que cada vez, y con más fuerza provoca ansiedad y desesperación.
We went together, and I never imagined that it would be so refreshing to celebrate and give thanks for the beauty and wonder of life. And that is what Christmas is all about, to reconcile and to feel the warmth of love.
Sometimes, and I know it happens to all of us, in small things we find peace and strength to be able to face this day to day, that every time, and with more strength, provokes anxiety and despair.
Dios es para muchos esa fuente de paz y de esperanza, que es también motivo de rechazo social muchas veces y quiero reconocer que si en algún momento lo hice; pido perdón. En esta navidad he descubierto que sí, es bien cierto, es origen de gozo y de alegría, principio de esperanza y de amor y nacimiento.
Nos acogió la parroquia de la Virgen María de las Nieves, y el padre Pedro Pablo en su humilde actuar hizo sentir a todos el disfrute de la navidad. Preparó la iglesia con decoraciones que estuvo preparando casi 15 días antes de la fecha, y recibió con las manos y el corazón abierto a todos los que estuvieron.
God is for many that source of peace and hope, which is also a reason for social rejection many times and I want to recognize that if at some point I did it; I ask for forgiveness. This Christmas I have discovered that yes, it is true, it is the source of joy and happiness, the beginning of hope and love and birth.
We were welcomed by the parish of the Virgin Mary of the Snows, and Father PedroPablo in his humble act made everyone feel the enjoyment of Christmas. He prepared the church with decorations that he had been preparing almost 15 days before the date, and received with open hands and open hearts all those who were there.

El padre Pedro Pablo alegre de tener una multitud de personas que decidieron pasar la noche buena junto a él; en su misión de dar esperanza y amor fue bien cumplida en esa noche, soy testigo de su acto de dar paz y amor, de dar fe en Cristo y de no juzgar a nadie.
It was a very emotional mass, and upon my arrival at the church, I was surprised to have the honor of being selected to read the biblical readings of the mass. My grandmother, my brother and my girlfriend who accompanied me, were all the time taking pictures and capturing that moment.
Father Pedro Pablo was happy to have a multitude of people who decided to spend Christmas Eve with him; his mission of giving hope and love was well fulfilled that night, I am a witness of his act of giving peace and love, of giving faith in Christ and of not judging anyone.

He aprendido algo nuevo esta Navidad: La fe siempre tienen momentos de reflexión, los que ayudan a entender mejor la vida, a integrar el dolor como parte de ella, haciendo a las personas tremendamente agradecidas de los detalles cotidianos que perdemos en esos momentos. Eso en el plano emocional y psicológico es de suma importancia en los tiempos actuales no solo para enfrentarnos satisfactoriamente a las cotidianidades perjudiciales del mundo actual sino también nos protege de enfermedades mentales y actuar con racionalidad y cortesía.
I have learned something new this Christmas: Faith always has moments of reflection, those that help to better understand life, to integrate pain as part of it, making people tremendously grateful for the everyday details we miss in those moments. That on the emotional and psychological level is of utmost importance in today's times not only to cope successfully with the daily harmfulness of today's world but also protects us from mental illness and act with rationality and courtesy.
