Mi presentación, primer paso en HIVE | My presentation, first step in HIVE

Mi nombre es Leslie, soy ilustradora digital y esta es mi presentación en HIVE. Estaré aquí como Hive account@istayglow . Tengo 19 años y vivo en la exótica Venezuela, estado Anzoátegui. Soy una persona bastante reservada, introvertida, pero bien chévere.

Hello everyone!...

My name is Leslie , I'm a digital illustrator and this is my presentation on HIVE. I'll be here as Hive account@istayglow . I'm 19 years old and I live in exotic Venezuela, Anzoátegui state. I'm a pretty reserved person, introverted, but very cool.

Curso el segundo año de ingeniería en informática y paso la mayor parte del tiempo en mi computadora o dispositivos electrónicos, lo que en parte me llevó a descubrir mi mayor pasión (ya les cuento). Tengo varios intereses/hobbies y cosas que se me dan muy bien, disfruto hacer ejercicio, leer, escuchar música, tocar guitarra, lira, edición de fotografías y videos, sin embargo, lo que más me apasiona es el dibujo.

Para mí el dibujo es algo natural, lo hago desde muy pequeña, no recuerdo la primera vez que dibujé ni cuándo me comenzó a gustar, solo sé que me gusta. No obstante, en 2020 cuando inició la pandemia, comencé a dedicarle más tiempo a este hobby, a investigar y mejorar mi técnica de manera autodidacta, y es notable el progreso que tuve.

I am in my second year of computer engineering and spend most of my time on my computer or electronic devices, which in part led me to discover my greatest passion (I'll tell you about it). I have several interests/hobbies and things that I am very good at, I enjoy exercising, reading, listening to music, playing guitar, lyre, photo and video editing, however, what I am most passionate about is drawing.

For me drawing is something natural, I have been doing it since I was very little, I don't remember the first time I drew or when I started to like it, I just know that I like it. However, in 2020 when the pandemic started, I began to dedicate more time to this hobby, to investigate and improve my technique in a self-taught way, and it is quite remarkable the progress I had.

Luego en Instagram, encontré mucho contenido sobre el dibujo digital y aunque ya había utilizado Microsoft Paint que técnicamente es dibujo en digital, intentarlo con otras herramientas y softwares parecía algo totalmente “nuevo” y decidí probarlo, a pesar de solo tener una laptop de bajos recursos y un mouse y... me enamoró.

Así que, empecé haciendo cosas sencillas que para mí quedaban increíbles, y abrí mi propia cuenta en Instagram (también Hive account@istayglow) donde comencé a publicar contenido de la más mínima cosa que hacía y para mi sorpresa ¡a la gente le gustaba!.

Then on Instagram, I found a lot of content about digital drawing and although I had been
using Microsoft Paint, which technically is digital drawing, trying it with other tools and software seemed something totally "new" and I decided to try it, despite only having a low-resource laptop and a mouse and... I fell in love with it..

So, I started making simple things that looked amazing to me, and I opened my own Instagram account (also Hive account@istayglow) where I started posting content of the smallest thing I did and to my surprise people liked it.

Sé que esas primeras ilustraciones no eran algo excepcional, aun así, había personas que recibían mi trabajo con agrado, que me motivaron a mejorar y, explorar estilos, así como también tomé inspiración de artistas fascinantes que encontraba, y finalmente terminé enfocándome en hacer retratos y fanarts, normalmente kpop, ya que encontraba conceptos llamativos y personajes que me inspiraban en esa área.

Seguí practicando mucho durante estos dos últimos años, de hecho, se convirtió en la actividad en la que más invierto mi tiempo. Traté de desarrollar un estilo propio, que mis obras fuesen reconocibles para todo el que lo viera sin tener que ver mi nombre en ellas, hasta que ¡por fin! después de muchos intentos, tuve buenos resultados.

I know that those first illustrations were not something exceptional, even so, there were people who received my work with pleasure, who motivated me to improve and, explore styles, as well as I also took inspiration from fascinating artists that I found, and finally I ended up focusing on making portraits and fanarts, usually kpop, since I found striking concepts and characters that inspired me in that area.

I kept practicing a lot during these last two years, in fact, it became the activity I spend most of my time on. I tried to develop my own style, so that my works would be recognizable to everyone who saw them without having to see my name on them, until finally! after many attempts, I has good results.

Actualmente sigo utilizando mi laptop y mi mouse para ilustrar, aunque no son las herramientas más óptimas que hay para esta tarea, me permiten hacer lo que me gusta y lograr cosas que ni me imaginaba que podía hacer.

Me encanta compartir con otros lo que puedo hacer, el proceso detrás de cada obra, mi progreso como artista e ilustradora, y ver lo que los demás artistas y creadores de contenido tienen para ofrecer, es por eso que estoy aquí en HIVE. Espero que les guste mi contenido y pueda contar con su apoyo en esta comunidad.

Currently I still use my laptop and my mouse to illustrate, although they are not the best tools for this task, they allow me to do what I like and achieve things I never imagined I could do.

I love sharing with others what I can do, the process behind each piece, my progress as an artist and illustrator, and seeing what other artists and content creators have to offer, that's why I'm here on HIVE. I hope you like my content and I can count on your support in this community.
