¡Hola! Mis estimados amigos de #hive es un gusto saludarles, hoy deseo presentarles a mi ilustre Ciudad de Portoviejo, la cual en estos días estuvo de aniversario, ya son 488 años desde su fundación. Y les hago una breve presentación de varios lugares para que ustedes puedan visualizar.
Para aquellos que no conocen mi bella Ciudad de Portoviejo, les voy hacer un breve recorrido a través de varias fotos. Quiero aclarar que soy una buena historiadora en cuanto a mi Ciudad se trata, pero aún así pido disculpas de ante mano si los datos que les daré de Portoviejo quizá no sean tan exactos.
Pero toda la informacion administrada la pueden en caso de algún error, corregir o conocer aún más en el libre uso de el internet y sus muchas páginas, donde podrán conocer mucho más acerca de esta hermosa Ciudad.
En una fecha como esta domingo 12 de Marzo, mi Ciudad hermosa estuvo de aniversario de fundación por el Español Capitán Francisco Pacheco ya ven ustedes de donde proviene el apellido Pacheco de mis hijos. En otro post les estaré contando.
Hello! My dear friends of #hivers it is a pleasure to greet you, today I want to introduce you to my illustrious city of Portoviejo, which these days was on its anniversary, 488 years since its founding. And I make a brief presentation of several places for you to visualize.
For those who do not know my beautiful city of Portoviejo, I will make a brief tour through several photos. I want to clarify that I am a good historian as far as my City is concerned, but even so I apologize in advance if the data that I will give you about Portoviejo may not be so accurate.
On a date like this Sunday March 12, my beautiful city was on its anniversary of foundation by the Spanish Captain Francisco Pacheco you can see where the surname Pacheco of my children comes from. In another post I will be telling you about it.
Al principio mi Ciudad tenía otros nombres tales como: Villa Nueva de San Gregorio también se la llamaba Los Reales Tamarindos o Ciudad del Valle quedando reconocida por los historiadores como: Portoviejo se escribe así unido.
Mi amada Ciudad de Portoviejo, ha venido con los pasos de los años creciendo y avanzando a paso agigantados, despues de sufrir una gran devastación a causa de un fuerte terremoto. Me da mucho gusto verla pasar por varios procesos, pero engalanada y muy histórica.
Portoviejo es la Capital de la Provincia (Estado) de Manabí. Es una Ciudad asentada en un valle rodeada de hermosas colinas o lomas, que son el pulmón, lo atraviesa un río por medio de la Ciudad quién lleva su mismo nombre. Tanto la Provincia como la Ciudad pertenecen a la Costa Ecuatoriana del Océano Pacífico.
At the beginning my city had other names such as: Villa Nueva de San Gregorio it was also called Los Reales Tamarindos or Ciudad del Valle becoming recognized by historians as: Portoviejo is thus spelled united.
My beloved city of Portoviejo, has been growing and advancing at a great pace over the years, after suffering a great devastation due to a strong earthquake. It gives me great pleasure to see it going through several processes, but adorned and very historic.
Portoviejo is the Capital of the Province (State) of Manabí. It is a city settled in a valley surrounded by beautiful hills or hills, which are the lung, a river crosses it through the middle of the city who bears the same name. Both the province and the city belong to the Ecuadorian coast of the Pacific Ocean.
Portoviejo es considerada como de las Ciudades más hospitalaria de gente cálida, (los emigrantes lo pueden decir) gente trabajadora y honesta, eso si muy regionalista, su gastronomía es la mejor de todo el país, reconocida por la UNESCO como la Ciudad Gastronómica del Ecuador.
En cuánto a su Gastronomía puedo decir que aquí se come sabroso, abundante, fresco, como es el sabroso Encebollado; el Ceviche de pescado, de mariscos o mixtos; el bolón de plátano verde con chicharrón; el rico caldo de gallina, la guatita; la verdad me tomaria mucho escribir la gran variedad de platos tradicionales. Eso sí, todo lo que hay para degustar es bueno y sabroso, según mi paladar jajajaja y el de muchos más.
Portoviejo is considered one of the most hospitable cities of warm people, (emigrants can say it) hardworking and honest people, that if very regionalist, its gastronomy is the best in the country, recognized by UNESCO as the Gastronomic City of Ecuador.
As for its gastronomy I can say that here you eat tasty, abundant, fresh, as is the tasty Encebollado; the Ceviche of fish, seafood or mixed; the green plantain ball with crackling; the rich chicken broth, the guatita; the truth would take me a long time to write the wide variety of traditional dishes. Of course, everything there is to taste is good and tasty, according to my palate hahahaha and that of many others.
Portoviejo cuenta con tres Hospitales bien grandes, uno General, otro de Especialidades y Solca. También con un Ejército Fuerte Militar de Manabí dentro de la Ciudad; con dos Universidades; un Estadio y dos Coliseo Deportivos; con varios Bancos. Para atravesar la Ciudad de un lado a otro tiene ocho puentes y un Terminal Terrestre. Anteriormente tenía Aeropuerto.
Portoviejo además tiene el Mercado Municipal más grande de toda Latino América, con tres ancesores, unas escaleras eléctricas, ramplas, muy bien organizado y un gran patio de comidas, cajeros; también tiene dos Cuerpos de Bomberos; un Museo; la Gobernacion de la Provincia de Manabí. También forma parte del turismo con nuestras playas, una de las más conocidas en nuestro post anteriores Crucita
Además tiene dos Iglesias Católicas grandes entre ella La Catedral y tres Templos Evangélicos grandes en el centro y uno de ellos es Metropolitano. La Ciudad cuenta con dos Centro Comerciales, uno es El Paseo Shopping y el otro nuevo recién inagurado en este día 12 el CC1 (uno) pues anteriormente había otro el cuál se cayó con el terremoto.
Portoviejo has three large hospitals, one General, one of Specialties and Solca. Also with an Army Military Fortress of Manabí inside the City; with two Universities; a Stadium and two Sports Coliseums; with several Banks. To cross the City from one side to the other it has eight bridges and a Terrestrial Terminal. It used to have an airport.
Portoviejo also has the largest Municipal Market in all of Latin America, with three ancesters, an escalator, ramps, very well organized and a large food court, cashiers, also has two fire departments, a museum, the Government of the Province of Manabi. Also part of the tourism is our beaches, one of the best known in our previous post Crucita.
It also has two large Catholic Churches among them The Cathedral and three large Evangelical Temples in the center and one of them is Metropolitan. The city has two shopping malls, one is El Paseo Shopping and the other new one just inaugurated on this day 12 the CC1 (one) because previously there was another one which fell with the earthquake.
También hay ocho Parques dentro de la Urbe, para salir a desestrezarse. se los mencionaré comenzando por el más grande. El Parque la Rotonda, cuenta con áreas verdes y arbolado, césped sintético, canchas de uso múltiples, un auditorio cerrado, una laguna donde hay paseo en bote a pedales y posee dos fuentes de agua en medio, también cuenta con otra variedad de fuentes en donde los niños se bañan o refrescan, entre muchas cosas más de entretenimiento.
There are also eight parks within the city to go out and relax. I will mention them starting with the largest. The Rotonda Park has green areas and trees, synthetic grass, multipurpose courts, an enclosed auditorium, a lagoon where there is a pedal boat ride and has two water fountains in the middle, also has a variety of other sources where children can bathe or cool off, among many other things for entertainment.
Luego le sigue El Parques Las Vegas queda casi en el Corazón de la Ciudad, es muy hermoso y diría yo, el más concurrido, tiene muchas areas verdes y arbolado, canchas múltiples, recreación para niños y para toda la familia, tiene en medio una parte elevada un hacia abajo un Auditorio abierto con gradas, en donde se realizan obras culturales como teatro, concursos de bellezas, bandas musicales y orquestas nacionales como internacionales; también se realiza muchas ferias de emprendimientos, la rodea por su costado derecho el rio de la Ciudad.
Then follows the Las Vegas Park is almost in the heart of the city, is very beautiful and I would say, the busiest, has many green areas and wooded, multiple courts, recreation for children and for the whole family, has in the middle of an elevated part down an open auditorium with bleachers, where cultural works such as theater, beauty contests, bands and national and international orchestras are performed, also many fairs are held entrepreneurship, surrounded by the right side of the river of the city.

El otro Parque es El Jardín Botanico lo bordea una gran Colina toda verde y muy amplia; usada y cuidada por los estudiantes universitarios para sus diversos estudios, este parque goza de su propia naturaleza en donde encuentras ardillas, perezoso, iguanas entre otras especies, además de varias plantas medicinales y también de diferentes ornamentales como las Orquideas, es ideal para la recreación.
Está el parque El Forestal hoy un poco descuidado en especial su laguna, ahí se realizaban muchas actividades. Hay otros más como el Andres de Vera frente al paseo Shopping, muy visitado. También Eloy Alfaro frente a la Catedral. Y el último, pero no menos importante es el Parque Central Vicente Amador Flor el cual cubre toda una cuadra frente a la Gobernacion. Este parque tiene WiFi gratis.
The other park is the Botanical Garden bordered by a large hill all green and very wide; used and cared for by university students for their various studies, this park enjoys its own nature where you find squirrels, sloths, iguanas and other species, in addition to various medicinal plants and different ornamental plants such as orchids, is ideal for recreation.
There is the park El Forestal today a little neglected, especially its lagoon, where many activities used to take place. There are others like the Andres de Vera in front of the Paseo Shopping, very visited. Also Eloy Alfaro in front of the Cathedral. And the last but not least is the Vicente Amador Flor Central Park which covers a whole block in front of the Gobernacion. This park has free WiFi.
Después de este gran recorrido, ver la fotos y ver a mi Ciudad levantarse prácticamente de las cenizas tal cual ave fénix, es un orgullo de ser Portovejence, la verdad que el Alcalde saliente hizo una gran labor gerenciando los recursos de la Ciudad, se propuso poner a la Ciudad como una Ciudad Ejemplar.
Mi Ciudad se ve hermosa, las Avenidas son amplias, en toda la reconstrucción se colocó el cableado subterráneo, pues el Alcalde no quería ver tallarines (espaguetis) colgados. Con todo lo que hizo, aún mi Ciudad necesita ser más reconstruida, aún se ven lugares desiertos, y falta arreglar muchas calles.

My City looks beautiful, the Avenues are wide, in all the reconstruction the subway wiring was placed, because the Mayor did not want to see noodles (spaghetti) hanging. With all that he did, my City still needs to be rebuilt more, you can still see deserted places, and many streets need to be fixed.

Hacer cambios no es fácil, en especial cuando la gente tiene mentalidad cerrada, pero poco a poco se ha visto el progreso; y los ciudadanos fueron aceptando los cambios. Sólo espero que el nuevo Alcalde se porte a la altura y continúe con el desarrollo, embelleciendo y empoderando más a mi Ciudad.

Making changes is not easy, especially when people are closed-minded, but little by little we have seen progress; and the citizens have accepted the changes. I only hope that the new Mayor will be up to the task and continue with the development, beautifying and empowering my City.
