I remember that when I was little my mother used to take me to play in this park, commonly called "PARQUE DE TRAPICHITO" there I spent a couple of hours having fun and meeting new friends, this place is located in the city of Guarenas, Miranda State, Venezuela; It is a space where families come to share some time with nature, there are those who only come to exercise and others just to walk or meditate; In this city this is the only park that exists, that is why it is very frequented by people. Recuerdo que cuando era pequeño mi madre me llevaba muy seguido a jugar a este parque, comúnmente llamado "PARQUE DE TRAPICHITO" allí pasaba un par de horas divirtiédome y conociendo amiguitos nuevos, este lugar lugar queda ubicado en la ciudad de Guarenas, Estado Miranda, Venezuela; es un espacio en donde las familias vienen a compartir un rato con la naturaleza, hay quienes solo vienen a ejercitarse y otros solo a pasear o meditar; en esta ciudad este es el unico parque que existe, por eso es muy frecuentado por las personas.
Since I was little until now, I have never seen any maintenance done to this park; I have only seen the decline of the place and how little by little it has been deteriorating over the years. Desde que era pequeño hasta la actualidad, jamas he visto que le hagan algún mantenimiento a este parque; solo he visto la decadencia del lugar y como poco a poco se ha ido deteriorando con el pasar de los años.
This week I started again with the morning routine of going to the trapichito park to do a little exercise and taking Polar for a walk to drain the energy he has accumulated. Esta semana comencé nuevamente con la rutina matutina de ir hasta el parque de trapichito para hacer un poco de ejercicios y sacar a caminar a Polar para que drene la energía que tiene acumulada.
I hadn't been to the park for about 4 months to exercise, when I arrived at the park this past Monday morning, I could notice that the exercise machinery was all broken, only one was functional; the place was a bit empty, it shows that the people who came daily are discouraged by the deterioration of the place. Yo tenía unos 4 meses que no iba para el parque a ejercitarme, cuando llegué este pasado lunes en la mañana al parque, pude notar que las maquinarias para hacer ejercicios estaban todas estropeadas, solo quedaba una sola funcional; el lugar estaba un poco vacío, se nota que las personas que venían cotidianamente se desmotivan por el deterioro del lugar.
Last December elections were held for mayors here in my country and in the city of Guarenas where I currently reside (well I have lived in this city all my life) there was a change of mayor; the newly elected mayor is making an attempt to pay some attention to the deficiencies of this city and among his proposals and actions, he has launched an operation to restore and maintain the trapichito park. El pasado mes de diciembre se efectuaron elecciones para los alcaldes aquí en mi país y en la ciudad de Guarenas donde resido actualmente (bueno toda mi vida he vivido en esta ciudad) hubo un cambio de alcalde; el nuevo alcalde electo esta haciendo un intento por prestarle un poco de atención a las deficiencias de esta ciudad y entre sus propuestas y acciones, ha puesto en funcionamiento un operativo para restaurar y mantener el parque de trapichito.
This made me very happy, because really these last 5 days that I have attended the park to exercise, I have seen a great improvement in the place; They keep the place clean on a daily basis, since before there was a lot of garbage scattered everywhere. Esto me alegró mucho, porque de verdad estos últimos 5 días que he asistido al parque para ejercitarme, he visto una gran mejoría en el lugar; a diario mantienen el lugar limpió, ya que antes había mucha basura regada por todas partes.
They also accommodated the lighting of the place, since this space had been without lighting for about 10 years, now it is possible to take night walks, apart from the fact that at night there is surveillance by the police, something that in the past had never happened in the park. También acomodaron la iluminación del lugar, ya que este espacio había estado unos 10 años sin iluminación, ahora es posible hacer paseos nocturnos, aparte que en las noches hay vigilancia por parte de la policía, algo que en el pasado nunca había ocurrido en el parque.
The team that is doing the work has already restored several of the concrete paths that were destroyed; I'm really happy with this love that they are doing to this park, there is still a long way to go before it looks restored, but in these few days that they have been working they have made considerable progress. El equipo que esta haciendo el trabajo ya ha restaurado varios de los caminos de concreto que estaban destruidos; de verdad me alegro mucho con este cariñito que le estan haciendo a este parque, todavía falta mucho para que se vea restaurado, pero en estos pocos días que llevan trabajando han avanzado considerablemente.
I hope that this reconstruction can allow the park to reignite again as in the past and that people can go to enjoy a pleasant space where they can breathe fresh air and be in contact with nature.
