Buen día amigos de Hive. De corazón espero que tanto ustedes como cada uno de los miembros de su familia se encuentren bien. Hoy deseo compartir con ustedes una ingrata experiencia que viví y que pone de relieve la insensatez de muchas personas.
Good morning friends of Hive. I sincerely hope that you and each of your family members are doing well. Today I want to share with you an unpleasant experience I had that highlights the senselessness of many people.
Hace dos semanas salí de viaje con dos amigas al estado Falcón. Un amigo nos llevó a Valencia y allí tomamos el autobús para Coro. Desde Valencia hasta Coro son aproximadamente cuatro horas. Íbamos muy emocionadas porque ninguna de las tres conocíamos el estado Falcón, así que nuestro entusiasmo y felicidad estaban a flor de piel hasta que se vio interrumpida por la inconsciencia del chófer y de algunos pasajeros.
Desde que salimos de Valencia yo noté que íbamos muy rápido pero no le di mucha importancia. Después que hicimos la primera parada ocurrió el primer incidente. El chofer emprendió de nuevo el viaje y dejó a una señora que se había bajado para ir al baño. Resulta que cuando los autobuses hacen alguna parada los pasajeros nos bajamos, aprovechamos de ir al baño y de descansar un poquito, como el chófer estaba apurado arrancó y no se percató que había dejado a la señora.
La señora tuvo que montarse en un moto taxi para alcanzar el autobús, ella andaba con un bebé, el moto taxi alcanzó el autobús y la señora muy enojada le dijo al chófer que debía estar pendiente, además ella había dejado durmiendo a su otro niño en el autobús. La verdad es que yo no me percaté de quienes eran todos los pasajeros que íbamos porque apenas fue la primera parada, lo que sé es que al chofer se le notaba la prisa que llevaba. Este fue el primer incidente.
Two weeks ago I went on a trip with two friends to Falcón state. A friend took us to Valencia and there we took the bus to Coro. From Valencia to Coro is about four hours. We were very excited because none of the three of us knew the state of Falcon, so our enthusiasm and happiness was at its peak until it was interrupted by the unconsciousness of the driver and some passengers.
Since we left Valencia I noticed that we were going very fast but I didn't think much of it. After we made the first stop, the first incident occurred. The driver started the trip again and left a lady who had gotten off to go to the bathroom. It turns out that when the buses make a stop we passengers get off, we take the opportunity to go to the bathroom and rest a little, as the driver was in a hurry and did not notice that he had left the lady.
The lady had to get on a motorcycle cab to catch the bus, she was carrying a baby, the motorcycle cab caught up with the bus and the lady was very angry and told the driver that he had to be careful, besides she had left her other child sleeping on the bus. The truth is that I didn't realize who all the passengers were because it was only the first stop, what I do know is that the driver was in a hurry. This was the first incident.
Posteriormente nos percatamos de que después de haber recorrido un largo tramo se regreso. Todos extrañados nos preguntábamos qué estaba pasando. Un pasajero le pidió que le explicará por qué se estaba regresando, el chofer no respondía nada hasta que nos dimos cuenta de que se regresó a buscar a un familiar que andaba con un perro.
Later we noticed that after having traveled a long way, he returned. We all wondered what was going on. A passenger asked him to explain why he was turning back, the driver did not answer anything until we realized that he had turned back to look for a relative who was with a dog.
Supongo que para ganar el tiempo perdido por ese regreso, comenzó a correr. Venía con demasiada velocidad. Algunos pasajeros, incluyéndome, le dijimos que bajara la velocidad pero él no nos hizo caso. Mis amigas y yo veníamos en la parte de atrás y literalmente yo sentía que se me iba a desprender un pulmón o cualquier otro órgano. Era horrible estar allí, pedir que bajara la velocidad y simplemente ser ignorados. Las curvas eran terribles y llegó un momento en que uno de los niños que también venía atrás se cayó al pasillo.
En ese mismo momento, la mamá del niño comenzó a gritarle al chófer y al colector, les decía: "No somos animales, aquí llevo a mis niños, baja la velocidad". Todos los pasajeros de atrás la apoyamos pero los de adelante se reían y de forma sorprendente apoyaban esa locura. Estábamos deseando llegar rápido pero hubo un momento en que me sentí demasiado asustada ya que no había manera de que ese chofer bajara la velocidad, me parecía que lo hacía a propósito.
Una señora dijo lo siguiente: " Ya van a ver lo que va a pasar". Esta señora hizo una llamada a un familiar que trabajaba en una alcabala y cuando llegamos allí se subió una funcionaria y lo primero que preguntó fue: "¿Cómo viene conduciendo el chofer?".
Al unísono, todos los que veníamos atrás dijimos con exceso de velocidad, pero lo gritamos. Fue el momento de sentirnos escuchados. Lo grandemente sorprendente es que los pasajeros de adelante nos hacían señas para que no dijéramos nada. Un señor dijo: "Por culpa de ustedes vamos a llegar tarde". Ante esto yo respondí: "Prefiero llegar tarde pero viva".
I guess to make up for the time lost by that return, he started to run. He was coming with too much speed. Some passengers, including me, told him to slow down but he didn't listen to us. My friends and I were in the back and I literally felt like I was going to lose a lung or any other organ. It was horrible to be there, ask to slow down and just be ignored. The curves were terrible and there came a point when one of the kids who was also in the back fell into the aisle.
At that very moment, the mother of the child started shouting at the driver and the collector, saying: "We are not animals, I am taking my children here, slow down". All of us passengers in the back supported her but those in the front laughed and surprisingly supported this madness. We were eager to get there fast but there was a moment when I felt too scared because there was no way that driver would slow down, it seemed to me that he was doing it on purpose.
One lady said the following: "You will see what is going to happen". This lady made a call to a family member who worked in a police station and when we got there, a female officer got in and the first thing she asked was: "How is the driver driving?
In unison, all of us in the back said speeding, but we shouted it out. It was the moment we felt heard. What was greatly surprising was that the passengers in front of us were signaling us not to say anything. One man said: "Because of you we are going to be late". To this I replied: "I prefer to be late but alive".
La funcionaria dijo que el procedimiento llevaría tiempo pero que lo haríamos. Así que nos bajaron a todos, dejaron detenido al chófer, al colector y al autobús. Cuando el chofer vio las sanciones comenzó a justificarse y decía: "A mí no me dijeron que venía rápido, consideren lo que están haciendo, yo soy padre de familia". Hasta me abordó y me pidió que le diéramos otra oportunidad. Por supuesto que no consentimos, él había escuchado nuestras quejas y no nos hizo caso. Ahora tenía que asumir las consecuencias de sus actos.
Se estableció la denuncia y firmamos en el papel que la funcionaria nos dio, mientras que los que iban adelante nos miraban de reojo y con mala cara. Tuvimos que esperar que llegara otro autobús para hacer trasbordo y así fue que llegamos bien a nuestro destino. De tanta tensión que tenía en el autobús quedé muy asustada y luego de varios días fue que me calmé. Realmente fue muy desagradable.
The official said that the procedure would take time but that we would do it. So they took us all down, detained the driver, the collector and the bus. When the driver saw the sanctions he began to justify himself and said: "They didn't tell me I was coming fast, consider what you are doing, I am a family man". He even approached me and asked me to give him another chance. Of course we did not consent, he had heard our complaints and did not listen to us. Now he had to take the consequences of his actions.
The complaint was established and we signed on the paper that the official gave us, while those who were ahead of us looked at us sideways and with a bad face. We had to wait for another bus to arrive to transfer and we arrived safely at our destination. I was so tense on the bus that I was very scared and after several days I calmed down. It was really very unpleasant.
Amigos, la vida es muy valiosa. En situaciones como estás notamos que muchos no la valoran pero es injusto que por culpa de personas así ocurran tantos accidentes mortales. Gracias a Jehová Dios llegamos con bien, pero si vuelve a ocurrir algo así estoy dispuesta a bajarme en una alcabala y decirle directamente a los policías y si no hacen nada, me bajaré y esperaré otro autobús. No es fácil hacer esto porque ya uno ha cancelado su pasaje pero mi vida vale más que cualquier pasaje. Cuidemos nuestra vida y dejemos claro que no apoyamos ninguna acción que exponga nuestra integridad física.
Friends, life is very valuable. In situations like these we notice that many do not value it, but it is unfair that because of people like this so many fatal accidents happen. Thanks to Jehovah God we arrived safely, but if something like this happens again I am willing to get off at a bus stop and tell the police directly and if they do nothing, I will get off and wait for another bus. It is not easy to do this because you have already cancelled your ticket but my life is worth more than any ticket. Let's take care of our lives and make it clear that we do not support any action that exposes our physical integrity.
