En esta oportunidad, quiero hablarles sobre una situación que ocurre en mi comunidad y que lamentablemente la mayoría de los vecinos hacen caso omiso al peligro que tienen frente a sus narices. Espero que puedan leer mi publicación y si es de su gusto dejarme su opinión al respecto.
Happy afternoon, friends of Hive. I extend to you a warm greeting, accompanied by a genuine wish that you are well. In this opportunity, I want to talk to you about a situation that occurs in my community and that unfortunately most of the neighbors ignore the danger they have in front of their noses. I hope you can read my publication and if it is to your liking leave me your opinion about it.
Vivo en un sector que es el terminal de una ruta de camionetas. Los conductores hacen el recorrido respectivo por las zonas correspondientes a su ruta y llegan justo a la calle en donde está mi casa. Allí se aglomeran todas las camionetas y van saliendo a recoger pasajeros según el orden que ellos llevan.
Muchos pensaran que es una ventaja vivir en el terminal de una ruta de camionetas porque si vienes del centro te deja en la puerta de tu casa y si vas al centro solo tienes que esperar en la puerta de la casa hasta que salga la camioneta correspondiente. Sin embargo, esto no representa ninguna ventaja para mí.
En primer lugar, la calle en donde estacionan las camionetas es muy inclinada, aunado a eso, muchos conductores prefieren dejar sus camionetas encendidas hasta que les toque volver a salir, por lo tanto es una calle llena de humo, ruido y tormento. Y por si fuera poco, las camionetas no están en buen estado. Con frecuencia se le van los frenos.
I live in an area that is the terminus of a truck route. The drivers make the respective route through the areas corresponding to their route and arrive right at the street where my house is. There all the vans conglomerate and go out to pick up passengers according to the order they carry.
Many will think that it is an advantage to live at the terminus of a van route because if you come from downtown it leaves you at the door of your house and if you go downtown you only have to wait at the door of your house until the corresponding van leaves. However, this does not represent any advantage for me.
First of all, the street where the vans are parked is very steep, added to that, many drivers prefer to leave their vans on until it is their turn to go out again, so it is a street full of smoke, noise and torment. On top of that, the trucks are not in good condition. The brakes are often gone.
La semana pasada el conductor perdió el control de la camioneta y chocó con un carro que amortiguó un poco el golpe y luego continuó de largo derrumbando la pared de la casa de un vecino. El ruido que proporcionó este incidente fue muy desagradable, realmente me asusté mucho. Gracias a Dios todopoderoso no hubo heridos, solo un carro y una pared dañada.
Si esto fuera un caso fortuito no me sintiera con tanta molestia porque en cualquiera parte puede ocurrir un accidente. Sin embargo, esto es un rasgo constante en mi comunidad. A estas camionetas con frecuencia se les van los frenos y mi casa ha sido impactada por las mismas en más de cinco ocasiones.
Last week the driver lost control of the van and hit a car which cushioned the blow a little and then continued on and collapsed the wall of a neighbor's house. The noise provided by this incident was very unpleasant, it really scared the hell out of me. Thank God almighty there were no injuries, just a car and a damaged wall.
If this were a fortuitous case I would not feel so upset because anywhere an accident can happen. However, this is a constant feature in my community. These vans frequently lose their brakes and my house has been hit by them on more than five occasions.
Llegó un momento en que eran tanto estos incidentes que tuvimos que denunciar la ruta de camionetas. Pese a nuestros esfuerzos por quitar ese terminal no hemos logrado nada. Y es que los únicos que se quejan somos nosotros, quienes estamos en toda la bajada de la calle inclinada. Más nadie dice nada y aunque ante sus propios ojos está el peligro que representan estas camionetas por su mal estado, aún siguen en un letargo indescriptible que me enfurece en gran manera.
At one point there were so many incidents that we had to denounce the truck route. Despite our efforts to remove this terminal, we have achieved nothing. And the only ones who complain are us, who are all the way down the sloping street. But nobody says anything and although before their very eyes is the danger that these vans represent because of their poor condition, they are still in an indescribable lethargy that infuriates me greatly.
La calle de este terminal de camionetas es muy concurrida por niños, adultos, ancianos, en fin seres humanos, que en cualquier momento pueden ser víctimas de un accidente mortal, pero eso no lo ve nadie. Es impresionante lo rápido que se les olvida lo que puede ocurrir realmente. Precisamente en la acera de esa pared que derribó la camioneta algunas personas sacan sus sillas y se sientan a hablar en las tardes. Cuando esto ocurrió algunos dijeron: "Qué bueno que no habíamos sacado las sillas". Como si ese fuera el último incidente que iba ocurrir en la vida.
The street of this truck terminal is very busy with children, adults, elderly, in short, human beings, who at any moment can be victims of a fatal accident, but no one sees that. It is impressive how quickly they forget what can really happen. Precisely on the sidewalk of that wall that the truck knocked down, some people take out their chairs and sit and talk in the afternoons. When this happened some people said, "It's a good thing we didn't take the chairs out". As if that was the last incident that was ever going to happen.
Lo mejor es ser precavidos, si vemos que existe un peligro latente, la idea es quitar hasta donde podamos las consecuencias de ese peligro, pero como bien reza el dicho: "Un solo árbol no hace montañas".
Mi familia ha hecho todo lo posible por disminuir riesgos y crear conciencia pero han sido golpes al aire. Lo último que vamos a hacer es colocar unas bases en las esquinas de la casa para cuando se venga otra camioneta no nos dañe las paredes como ya ha pasado y sobre todo pedirle mucho a Jehová Dios que nos proteja de cualquier tragedia.
The best thing is to be cautious, if we see that there is a latent danger, the idea is to remove as far as we can the consequences of that danger, but as the saying goes: "One tree does not make mountains".
My family has done everything possible to reduce risks and create awareness but they have been blows to the air. The last thing we are going to do is to place some bases in the corners of the house so that when another truck comes, it won't damage the walls as it has already happened and above all we ask Jehovah God to protect us from any tragedy.
La vida es tan valiosa y me molesta sobremanera que las personas no la vean así. El que no tengan visión de las cosas que pueden pasar aun viendo las pruebas, es algo que no puedo explicar porque sencillamente no los entiendo. No queda otra opción que seguir adelante encomendándose a Dios.
Life is so precious and it bothers me greatly that people don't see it that way. That they have no vision of the things that can happen even when they see the trials is something I can't explain because I simply don't understand them. There is no other option but to go on entrusting oneself to God.
