A Christmas greeting to all my dear community, after almost two years; because of the pandemic; without being able to visit a very dear one this Sunday we were able to go to her house and spend a pleasant afternoon with her and her family, Miriam for me is an example of struggle before the challenges.
As a child she suffered from polio and grew up with a small defect in her foot but that never made her feel less than others, her parents encouraged her to excel in life and to be self-sufficient, about 7 years ago she developed Parkinson's disease and for her instead of grieving for it, she was recommended to learn a trade that would keep her mind busy.
She has always enjoyed knitting and embroidery, but this time she was asked to paint ceramics, a great challenge, since it requires precision and pulse, something that was almost impossible for her to keep her hands calm and although at the beginning it was a little difficult, with perseverance she managed to do it. All the ornaments in her house were painted by her.
For this Christmas she made her ornaments in foamy, fabric, beads and painted a poster to decorate her door, all this despite the fact that the Covid-19 attacked her hard, this helped her in part to overcome part of the sequels left by it, she was the one who taught me to weave on loom.
She gets desperate if she is not doing something, so despite her condition in her walker she is in charge of cleaning the house and washing, according to her daughters she is very strict in the way she does it and therefore does not allow anyone to do it, she is currently decorating this curtain in embroidery.
She is an example that in adversity is when we must be more persevering, she is the sister that God gave me not by blood but by heart, we share talents, experiences, pains and joys together, forever together, that day she gave me my little board to make me the loom of the previous Blog.
Thank you for allowing me to share part of her story.
