Having land to grow food on is something quite valuable. So is sharing knowledge on how you grow it, and updates about living the farm life along the way. Hive is an excellent way for farmers to share their agricultural skills, and talk about what goes on in their daily life. This week I take a look at some posts by farmers. We will see some food updates by a farmer in Ghana, a post about horses in Goshen, Ohio.. a post about farming in Bangladesh, growing corn in Venezuela, and a chicken update in the United States.
Here are five Hive posts by plankton and minnows about farms:

Basil and Dill has been quite the successful crop for this grower in Ghana.. They are currently farming three varieties of Basil. His wife helps planting as well, so its a group effort making it all happen there.

The Horses Are Out by

Due to a recent hurricane, lots of the roads near this farm are closed. They needed to travel to another horse farm near by. Crews were out clearing the roads, and they got through it eventually. But when they arrived at their destination no one was there… oh man

End of May farm update. By

With lots of rain, removing weeds can be quite the chore. They are trying to minimize how many chemicals they use on this farm, so it makes it harder to manage. But I am sure the customers are glad to have food that is safer to eat with less pesticides and herbicides. They have been trying to mow them, and also let them just grow a little higher than you would see at a home. But with many garden beds they had lots to grow, some with fresh seeds. Others with established plants.

Growing Maize, a type of corn normally grown for farm animals to eat. But you can also make various types of food with it as well for people to eat. They started some soy beans as well recently and they are just starting to come up.

One of the neighborhood dogs got their roosters, they saw it happen and tried to chase them off but did not have their gun at the time. In the future they plan to shoot any dogs that show up on their property planning on harming their chickens.
Thats my five picks for this week, come back next week to see Solo's next weekly picks. I curate posts every Tuesday and do this through MSP. Thanks so much to the Minnow Support Group for giving me the opportunity to serve as a curator!
