Visiting different forests I have always been amazed by the new fungi I spot. And that is just locally around where I live. Worldwide there is some pretty crazy looking mushrooms that grow. And even some I spot that grow on my own property. This week I found some mushrooms posts by minnows and plankton, a few came from the (Fungi Lovers community). A great place to share your pictures of mushrooms or mycelium you spotted.
Here are five posts by Hive plankton and minnows talking about their mushroom findings:

Leaving their house to go visit the near by rice fields they spotted a mushroom they known about. It was growing on some wood , it was fresh. Compared to the one found later on that was more fully formed. They say they use it for cooking in stir fry sometimes.

@herryson/fungi-lovers-an-orange-mycena
While behind their home after a recent rain, they spotted a cut down palm tree trunk growing some orange mushrooms on them. It was really cool seeing that mushroom, I do not think I have seen it. But honestly we do not have many palm trees around where I live so maybe that is why. Great find!

Natural Oyster Mushrooms by

Spotting some Oyster mushrooms growing on a log, quite big ones honestly. I hope to find some out in the wild one day, but soon enough I plan on cultivating some. Will do a post on it when I do.

Seeing mushrooms along with their spores under a microscope was interesting. Its cool to see how different and in density they can be. Spores are like the seeds for the mushrooms, but since they are not plants they are different from seeds.

Spotting some mushrooms out in the forests of Aceh Indonesia. A little further along on their walk in the woods they spotted some Oyster mushrooms as well. As the afternoon got later they left the woods but was glad to find such cool mushrooms out there.
Thats my five picks for this week, come back next week to see Solo's next weekly picks. I curate posts every Tuesday and do this through MSP. Thanks so much to the Minnow Support Group for giving me the opportunity to serve as a curator!
