Hello hivers and community, I hope your week is going smoothly. I have been on hive for 2months now and heres what i have to say.
My experience here on Hive hasn't been the easiest. A few weeks ago, I contempulated on deleting this app after spending my time on research and writing a blog, only for it to get zero visibility. It was tough because I thought Hive was like a side hustle for me. I capitalized my entire experience here on “how much would I make?" I even went as far as looking at others posts and seeing how they gained so much visibility in the few months they have been here; it was discouraging, and I kept comparing to see what I was doing wrong.
What makes me feel really good is when I get comments on my posts; it makes my effort and time worth it. So when I don't get any comments or likes, I feel discouraged to post, but I still post because sometimes the journey ahead is far better than the beginning.
I have learned a few things that have helped me so far, and I would love to share them with you. Maybe they would be helpful to someone who is new and finding it difficult too.
WHAT I HAVE LEARNT SO FAR
Tags: its very important to use the right hashtags, it plays a very vital role on how far your post would reach, i’m still learning about the right tags to use too
Community: For every post you make, it certainly has a niche, so you need to place it in a community with the exact niche of the post you are writing. And also, I found out that some of these communities are not very active, so when you post under them, you get little to no visibility. Belonging to an active community is important because, as a newbie, I got to learn a lot from the posts of people who have been here before me.
Patience: I can’t emphasize this enough. The same way you start a new hobby or business and you’re patient with it until you start seeing profit, is the same here on hive. You have to be patient, and instead of thinking, “How much would I gain?” Be more focused on what you would learn and how your post would be relevant to someone. It's not a get-rich-fast scheme, so you have to be passionate and let it grow.
Follow the guidelines of each community: every community on Hive has their rules and guidelines you must obey, so go through it and follow the rules.
Piracy: You can reblog their post and give credit to the original blogger, but don't take credit for their work. This is a platform where you get to write from experience; two or more individuals cannot have the same experience. Avoid copying other people's blogs or ideas.
- Comments: Always comment on other people's posts and offer your opinions; this not only benefits you but also gives the blogger satisfaction from their work.
I have been using Hive for about two months, and like I mentioned before, it hasn't been the most straightforward experience. It has been both sweet and sore, but I'm learning, and I have faith that you will also eventually get the hang of it.
Thanks for reading
