Over the years, I have been on different social media platforms for different reasons. I don't even know how or why I got there in the first place. While others were, I was specifically asked to join for a proper conversation.

For instance, I joined 2Go when I was in secondary school because of how my friends hyped it. At that point, it felt as if, if you're not on 2Go, then you're a loser. My time spent on that platform was actually amazing. I felt that was the best thing that could happen to me until I heard of Facebook in my senior secondary school. 2Go became a Child's play, and adults like myself were the ones on Facebook.
I love how you can never get bored as long as you have data. There were always exciting memes to read and laugh out your sorrow.
Then Whatsapp came into the picture. It was kind of boring to me because my number of friends is quite limited based on my contact list, and then everyone there looks serious. And as for me, most people on my contact list were either families, neighbors, or church members. What on earth will we be talking about? But now that I am all grown, I think it's my second favorite.
Now let's talk about my favourite social media platform HIVE.
I have always been active on Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, Telegram, Whatsapp and X. But the moment I got introduced to hive blockchain, I fell in love with it so deeply that if I don't login every day, I feel as if something is missing in my life.
WHY I LOVE HIVE SO MUCH
I have learned from other social media platforms, no doubt, but Hive is exceptional. It has taught me a lot in life that I am grateful for. Honestly speaking, at first, when I joined the platform, my goal was to make money. Little did I know that my life too would be transformed by it. Let me share some of the things I have learned from Hive.
1. ATTITUDE: Growing up, I had little or no friends. My siblings were the friends I had, so interacting with people outside my home was something I found difficult. Because of that, I became a snob. I don't like interacting with people because it bores me out, down to greeting and complimenting. Like on other social media platforms, no matter how interesting and interactive something is, I will only read and laugh, but you see dropping a comment, I better hug a transformer than comment. I had so much pride in me. But Hive took that away. I needed to be active and interactive in a community to be relevant and have a good reputation. Because of that, I started engaging myself in conversations, and it is one of the best things that has happened to me so far. Even in the real world, I can easily compliment someone because I complimented a post or write-up on Hive.
2. PATIENCE: Talking about patience, this is one thing I have learned so fast on HIVE. You can't help but be patient and watch yourself grow. I remembered how impatient I could be with the process. You know this getting things done fast mindset: that was me for you oo. If something is not working out for me the way I planned, it's so easy to give up. But right now, I don't know why I just can't give up. Even when seeing little or no result, I am still willing to push. I remembered how I would invest my energy and time in writing a long post just to get little or no votes. I feel bad most of the time, but then, funny enough, I am inspired to do better and more. I learned to be patient with every result I see and be grateful for it.
3. RESPECT: This is one thing I will applaud every community administrator for. It's decentralized, no doubt, but you can't be disrespectful, not for any reason. This is what makes this platform a go for me. We have different people with different ideologies and beliefs, yet we are all respectful towards one another. I feel so safe and secure here because I'm sure nobody will ever disrespect or insult me for any reason. If peace were a platform, then I think Hive is that platform.
4. CONSISTENCY: To grow on this platform and have a good reputation, you need to be consistent with whatever you are doing. Like I said earlier, I easily give up on things, but right now, not anymore.
I even got to realize that the reason I gave up was because I saw little results with so much effort from my end, but then I was not consistent. Little did I know that consistency is the key to every successful person. You can't be inconsistent and see results. No way.
For instance, I came across the leaderboard icon on the inleo frontend page when I joined Hive recently. When I clicked on it, my name was not there. I began to wonder: how do people's names get on this stuff? because I have never seen mine. Any time I check, I will be nowhere to be found. One fateful day, I logged in quite early and was making threads, commenting on posts and having fun. I think I sat for up to 6 hours. I later got tired and realized that i hadn't eaten anything or had a bath. I was becoming uncomfortable and decided to log out. Just before going, I decided to check the leaderboard. To my surprise, my name was on the leaderboard. The top two for that matter. You needed to see the joy in my face that fateful day. I was so excited that after showering and eating, I spent the rest of the day making threads.
I have taken that same attitude to my fashion business. And it is helping me a lot. Instead of lazying around and giving excuses, I am now able to do something meaningful with my life.
5. KNOWLEDGE: I have learned a lot of new things from this platform. From long-form posts and threads. In my opinion, Hive is an all-in one platform where you can learn a lot from professionals. Different communities have made interaction and learning easy from different people and cultures. I get to see new dishes every day from creators on FoodiesBeehive. And all these recipes are amazing.
From Hive Garden, I was able to learn how to deal with issues in my garden that I have been suffering from for a long time now.
This is the best social media platform for me. Where your character, attitude, and financial status are built.
I have finally found where I can make money and still be learning so much from everyone and everything happening around me. On hive, you meet amazing people with amazing mindsets and Ideologies who are willing to bring out the best in you. To me, this platform is a gift to humanity.
