For the #Januaryinleo prompt day 24, I have been asked an interesting question about someone special I would be getting a gift for this year and this is my story. I encourage you to come participate in the prompts with this Link
Many a times we have the mind of giving someone a gift but we are constrained by finances.
I have been here and I am currently not far from here.
Giving comprises of both a thought and an action. If the thought is not backed up by an action then we cannot give and this action is more often than not dependent on finances.
Giving for me is about being thoughtful and not just extravagant. Getting the right gift under the right circumstances is a blessing that should not be taken for granted. That is why someone may receive an expensive gift but not value it as much as a cheaper but more thoughtful and hence more useful gift.
I have a cute five year's old nephew who loves music. He is a good singer (maybe too early to say) but beyond that he has shown signs of being a musical prodigy.
He goes to the drum and plays it fairly well. He goes to the keyboard and produces a melody.
I love seeing this as it warms my heart. Especially when I remember how hard it was for me when I used to try out musical instruments before I gave up and decided to focus on other things because sincerely I didn't see myself getting better at any.
So this nephew of mine has shown signs of not just being interested but also showed promising signs which I love and would like to play an important role in his development.
I plan to take his talents seriously and nurture him by gifting him a small keyboard and also finding him a tutor.

Currently, I am saving towards the keyboard. I want it to come as a surprise to him and his parents that is to say they are not aware of my plans, yet.
I believe that having a talent is important but I also know that if it is not nurtured properly, it will be useless to the individual.
Music is an integral part of life, one I wish I could be an active participant in but I lack both the singing talent and the instrumental abilities so I make do with being a passive lover by just listening and room singing, with occasional dancing.
I want my nephew to fulfil this potential which I have observed in him.
Let him learn it now, when he is tender and without worries. When he grows he gets to decide if he wants to use it or not.
It is better to have an ability and not want to use it than to need an ability and not have it.
And as the popular saying goes "no knowledge is a waste".
