I journeyed to the camp ground for my NYSC this morning and it has been a very eventful day. I have gone through a lot and a lot has gone through me, lol. I was woken up very early in the morning, and despite sleeping really late the night before due to preparation, I was weirdly very pumped and excited. And again, I didn't even know why, but then, I let it flow, it is a phase I am new to and I should just embrace whatever emotion I feel towards it.
My brother is also serving this year and luckily for us, we were posted in the same place. Our dad was meant to take us just to the park, but he later changed his mind to take us to the camp ground. I was so happy when I learned that this morning because it took away so much stress we might have encountered while finding our way to the camp ground. We just sat in the car and we had a really stressless journey, I was very grateful to my dad for driving us all the way.
And yes, we picked a friend of my brother on the way, who was also reporting to the same location. She eventually became the first acquintance I made at the camp. She was very kind and I think I like her.
We got to the camp ground and there was a lot of checking and confirmation, from the documents to the loads we carried. Apparently, some things are not allowed in camp and my crocz seized at the gate. For reasons best known to them, it wasn't allowed in the camp. We were given a number tag for our seized items, they said they will return the items three days to the end camp. They almost seized my perfume even, that one would have been much more painful and I am glad they later confirmed it was allowed.
The whole registration was quite stressful because we had to move from different places to the other for different processes. At the end, we got our kit and unluckily for me, my Khaki was oversized. It was a bit annoying because we were actually asked to put our size during the online registration. Only for them to hand over random sizes to us at the camp. It was really chaotic because people had to start looking for who to switch stuffs with.
