So guys, you will all agree with me that at some point in our life, we have all made some poor financial/spending decisions. We have all in one way or the other bought something or spent on something only to realize we might have made some mistake.

Guys, If you've never uttered a "had I known" after a purchase, consider yourself lucky. But for those of us who have taken that road, let me share a story about a time I bought something that made me exclaim, "Why did I do this?"
It happened some time ago when a friend of mine came around with a phone. The phone caught my attention immediately and I asked him how much it cost. The amount was ridiculously high but surprisingly, I found myself so interested in getting it. I immediately asked him to take me to the place he bought it so I can get mine too.
As we got to the shop, I got it immediately paid for it. I was filled with joy and excitement but as immediately I saw the notification of the money I spent, my eyes opened wide like someone who just got a cold shower.
Truth be told, as I walked out of that shop, my spirits tumbled. The phone that once caught my attention started showing me challenges. It felt like I had added sand to my garri. The joy in my stomach turned into a question mark, "What have I done to myself?" That was the question that kept ringing in my ear.
My regret grew in the following days. The phone I bought didn't deliver as promised. It felt like I had shot myself in the foot. The regret kept knocking on my head like someone collecting offerings in church.
But it didn't end there; the whole experience was a big lesson for me. It taught me that I need to be more careful before spending money. I began to ask myself if what I want to buy is a need or just a want. It made me rethink my spending habits, and I realized I needed to be wiser.
Trust me, this kind of story isn't unique to me. I am sure you know it happens to many of us. We might end up seeing a nice pair of shoes or enjoying a good meal, but immediately we pay, we will start questioning if that decision was a good one. This is the same trouble I had with my new phone then, and I know many people face similar problem with their expenses.
I am using this my experience to spread the word about the challenges a lot of people face. The lesson I learnt from this experience is that no matter how careful we are, we will still end up making mistakes sometimes when it comes to money matters but that doesn't mean we should just sit back and regret.
The first lesson is that even though these mistakes happen which I feel it's natural to make them, the most important thing is that we need to learn from these mistakes. The second lesson is that we need to know the difference between what we really need and what we just want. We don't just go out there buying everything we see just because they are shining. Trust me, we will end up regretting spending in that manner.
The third lesson is that we need to have a little money saved up. This money is going to be like an emergency cushion. Money you can lean on if trouble comes. So guys, it's not all about spending money, saving is essential too.
Trust me, this money trouble is a universal issue. My experience with the phone is just one story in the big book of money matter lessons. So, if you're out there and it seems like you're about to spend money that you might regret later, take my story with you.
Be careful, ask yourself if it's a need or a want, and always have a little money saved up. Money matters are not easy, but with wisdom, we can handle them well.
