It's a privilege to be posting in this community for the very first time and I appreciate the opportunity given to be part especially engaging myself in the topics dropped for the week. I went through the topics and decided to make my entry for the first topic which says;
What is something that everyone looks stupid doing?
The topic however made me remember Nigeria my country where so many funny and stupid things do occur that you can testify and relate as a Nigerian. The characters displayed by Nigerian have become a normal kind of character where we have no choice to relate since we understand what is involve.
Asking stupid and funny questions
It is mostly in Nigeria that people ask questions that sometimes don't need an answer and if you decide or intend not to answer it may look rude to the people who asked the question but because we sometimes don't mind we can relate by responding.
Imagine watching a football match and someone would come in to ask if your watching football lol no am swimming as you can see. That's common sense I feel isn't common for some people because you know what am doing but still want to ask the annoying question lol.
It sometimes don't end there because if it happens to be someone who don't really know much about football, their questions is always annoying. Now imagine a situation where we have Chelsea and man United playing against each other, you will then be asked who is playing.
I believe that is very much easy to answer by mentioning the teams name to them but then you will hear something like "who wear red", I will reply it's man United instead of common Sense to tell them that is Chelsea wearing the blue jersey but they will still go ahead to ask the question that who is wearing blue, I mean it sometimes looks annoying but to make peace reign you just have to answer.
It goes on and on like that when watching football matches and the most annoying one is when both teams are still playing goaless, you will then hear a stupid question that who is leading lol it's Nigeria my country.
Funny but stupid responds and characters
There is a way we sometimes call each other and respond to somethings that isn't heard properly and when we make this sounds it can be annoying to who we are calling especially if we don't know their names.
We use funny sounds to call people to get their attention but this can be seen rude when using those sounds to call them. "Hello" or "excuse me" is very much appropriate but then it seems very heavy in the mouth and they prefer sounds that can't be spelt lol.
Another stupid and funny sound that you will hear a Nigerian say is "ehn", whenever you hear them say this just know that they didn't hear you properly and this however can't be taken from us and majority are really used to it which will be very difficult to leave lol.
