I Wish I Could Get My Money Back
Reckless spending is what I always do my best to avoid anytime, any day. With the way things are becoming very expensive and life getting hard on a daily basis, it is wise for everyone to spend in order of priority.
My friends often think that I don't like spending money, we can go out with them, and they buy whatever seems to capture their desire but I hardly show interest in getting those things and even when they offer to get some for me, I decline. Both of us are seeing things from different perspectives, my friends see money as something that should be spent because more will come tomorrow.
I, On my own side, know how hard money is to find, I acquire only what is needed for the moment. The size of our pockets is not equal, they may be spending like that because they have it, and possibly they can regain what they just spent in a few hours, how about me? I know the nature of my work.
I am not saying, it's bad or wrong to spend on ourselves, if you don't spend on yourself, you are very wicked. your body deserves to be treated well. You need to spend on it and make it enjoy what it labored for but spend wisely.
I have a friend who sells clothes, she always advertises them on WhatsApp via her status. One of those days, she posted some nice T. Shirts, and I picked interest on one of them. But I overlooked it for the first day.
Another time she posted it again and I just decided to send her a direct message asking about the price. She told me it was 10,000 naira, and she thought I was a Yahoo boy, she was surprised when I started bargaining and I beat the price down to 8,000 Naira. 10,000 may sound small to you but here, things are not as expensive as they are in another part of the country. To burst your bubbles, 10,000 naira is a private primary school teacher's salary. You are surprised, right?
We made arraignments, I transferred the money to her and she delivered my goods as planned. When I got the shirt, it was nice just like I saw it but I was not happy with it. Do you know why? It was trending, and trust me I don't like things that are trending. I love unique dresses that I won't be seeing everywhere I go. Don't mind me, that's one problem I have.
I started feeling bad and thought I wasted my money, I could have bought a very simple long sleeve for 3500 Naira at least two pairs, and enjoyed them. I bought something I won't be using, I should have even used to money for something else. That time food stuff was not expensive, I would have gotten enough beans at that price.
Ask me if I didn't see it online before purchasing it, I did, I saw it very clearly I don't just know why I bought it lol. I thought of giving it out to my younger sister but she didn't ask. I remember when she saw it on me once she said she liked it, since then I packaged it for her and am just waiting for her to say broh won't you dash me that shirt? But she hasn't and I don't want to just carry it and give her without her asking 😂 my problem is too much, don't mind me.
