My Christmas Plans For This Year
Christmas is one of the biggest celebrations that takes place almost everywhere in the world, many people look forward to the month of December because of this special event. I remember those days when we were kids, by now, my Mom would have already gotten our Christmas clothes ready and probably lied to us that it belonged to our cousins in the village.
It's such a beautiful season filled with love, it's one period where even enemies dine together. You see people exchanging gifts, food, and so on. Sometimes I wish the love we share during this month can be taken down to our everyday lives.
Even with the way things are difficult if you should be able to make it up to your neighbor's house this Christmas, they will willingly offer you food and meat without you asking. A lot of us celebrate the picture of this season but don't actually know that it is trying to teach us how we ought to live with our family and friends.
Christmas is associated with a lot of expenses, people spend so much trying to make the day fun both for them and for their loved ones. I am not an exception but we need to apply wisdom when we spend because no matter how rich we are, if we spend recklessly, we may soon go broke and nobody would help us out.
Although it all depends on how fat our bank accounts are and also our source of income, some people could spend millions in a second and not be moved but another would spend just a thousand and it may cost him or her so much.
For this Christmas, I am not planning to spend so much, I have a lot of plans for next year if I should spend so much it's definitely going to spoil my plans. Nevertheless, I have been saving a little to spend on Christmas with my friends and family but once I go out of it, I am not going anywhere near my ATM card again, I'll just go home and sleep.
I have two places in mind to visit and treat myself nicely, the first is an eatery, I love their rice and salad, I might go there with my friend if he is free but if he should be busy I'll be going alone. the other place is JK Palms, a relaxation center, I love their coconut yogurt. I am going to get some, spend a little time there, and come back home.
The next day after Christmas, I am going nowhere, I'll be home throughout, if we had any amusement park here, I would have visited there but since there is none, I would just watch movies and enjoy my sleep. Too much movement can lead to unnecessary spending. LoL
Now, how much is so much to spend on Christmas and how much is moderate or even little? These things all depend on our pockets. Nothing is ever too much or too small to spend on yourself but the problem is priority and how much you earn. Christmas is a once-in-a-year something, we ought to enjoy it to the fullest with the right mindset but we must also be cautious of our large or small our pockets are.
A lot of people, spend so much and end up finding themselves in debt because of comparison and competition, for me, the person who spends one million because he has so much and a person who spends just one thousand naira because he has so little have no difference as far as they both had fun.
The aim is to have fun and not to put yourself under any form of pressure, it's just a one-day something, that will pass after 24 hours. If you have so much to spend fine, if you have little it's still fine, you can still enjoy it.
After the celebration, realities will unfold, may you not be among those who would be regretting why they spent their life savings trying to impress others. Enjoy Christmas but don't fall into debt. Enjoy Christmas but don't spend your investment money.
