Is birth control accepted in your country and culture? Which forms of family planning do you have available?
Family planning is a way of controlling childbirth and this is accepted in my country (Nigeria), but its acceptance varies across different cultures and regions. While some cultures embrace family planning others view it with skepticism or even see it as a taboo.
Family planning is becoming more accepted in Nigeria, especially among women who are educated. But In some cultures in the northern part of the country, family planning can never be a relevant topic because they believe in having many children due to their beliefs and the religion that permits marrying more than one wife, most parents in this part of the country are not enlightened about family planning, that is why the population of people from that part is way more than the other part of the country.
Family planning has its benefits to the country and even to the family as well, it reduces overpopulation in the country and it helps manage the finances of the family, for instance, a family with two children can never be compared with a family of twenty children, the different must be clear and their well-being will definitely be different.
In my country there is no need for family planning because the economy is controlling the rate at which people give birth now, no need for publication about family planning, we all know how things are expensive and how the country is undergoing an economic crisis, so it is better to use your tongue and count your teeth than to be dwelling in poverty and hardship.
Available family planning methods
CONDOMS:- No one is strange to this word because it is a way of protecting yourself during sexual intercourse, this can be used to prevent unwanted pregnancy but is not 100% guaranteed, we have different types of condoms and have both for males and females.
IMPLANT:- This is done by planting and injecting a tiny needle inside the woman, though most people complain about this method, some gain extra weight during this process while some lose too much weight but it is best to contact your doctor and should be examined in other to know the best method that would be good for your body type.
INJECTION:- This type of family planning is a form of injection given to both the husband and wife it is a way of neutralizing the male sperm pending the time they are ready to have another baby.
WOMB REMOVAL:- This is done on the woman, it is usually done when the wife has given birth to the number of children she wants, it is a kind of operation conducted on the woman to remove the womb in other to prevent unwanted pregnancy.
CONTRACEPTIVE:- This should be done after sex, it is a pill used to nullify any form of sperm that wants to find its way around the female egg to produce a child, it neutralizes the sperm.
WITHDRAWAL METHOD:- This method can not be guaranteed at all, though it may work for people it fails most time because the enjoyment can be out of this world, and before the man realizes it, it may have dropped a little which can lead to unwanted pregnancy.
These are the few methods I know in other to control childbirth, also people need to be educated about the benefits of family planning and not be scared away from it, some people only know about the side effects which make them run away from it.
According to my research, The Nigerian government has promoted family planning as a means of reducing maternal mortality and improving the health of women. In 2014, the Federal Government launched the "Free Family Planning Service for All" initiative, which aims to increase access to family planning services nationwide. The government should be doing this every year so that many women will learn about family planning and not see it as a means of depriving them of the enjoyment gotten from sexual intercourse.
