Looking at this strip, many would have concluded that it is a kit used for pregnancy test but reverse is the case as this was used to check the HIV status of a person. In our contemporary world, it is advisable that as youth who engage in daily activities with people either physical or sexual should always try to protect themselves and if not should check as at when due.
It is not too scare people or to put fear in their minds but to be sure of where you belong so that you would take the necessary steps required. Recently, I was chatting with a friend and we discussed about sexual activities, while I asked for his hIV status he claimed that he knows himself very well and does not need a test to know that he is negative.
People make this mistake so much that they think the men use of condoms is safe enough to protect them for infections of any kind. But Accidents Can Happen and one would just need to be careful. The other ways that people can contract HIV is through Blood-to-blood contact, Mother-to-child transmission, Occupational exposure etc.
Also, people should be aware of the fact that running away from people who are possible is not the best thing to do as this would stigmatize them and bring about depression. It should be noted that one cannot contract Hiv by hugging, touching, eating together, sharing spoons or cups, kissing, mosquito bites, sweats and so on.
However, try to get tested and know your status because, some people can have the virus but for their high immune system might take years to reflect which might be too late.
