House hunting is really a big issue in Nigeria based on the fact that the prices of house rent placed or some certain kind of house and not supposed to be because of their structure and location.
However, everyone wants to make money because lands are appreciating and the cost of building materials for houses have expensive. This has been a big concern for Citizens of the country especially for people who do not have the resources to build their own houses. Despite our Christ to the government to regulate the price is placed on rent nothing has been done about it.
Just last year in my community, my family and I had to look for an apartment and you would not believe that in that small community they charge 250,000 Naira for a two bedroom apartment without water. On getting to my present location, it is so bad because the rent is expensive based on the fact that they have a federal University close by and a Teaching Hospital. I have been trying to look for a self-contain or a room and parlor self contain but the prices are so ridiculous that I am with thinking my options.

The agents are not making it easier for us at all because when you go for house inspection, you are charged a bill of 5,000 Naira before they can go with you and you have to pay their transport fare. On getting to the apartment you realize that it is not even what you discussed with them but because they are out to make their own gain, they lie to you.
From now on, I will be asking for pictures of the apartment before I go further with inspection.
