The rise of mosquitoes I'm my area is so alarming that it feels as though nothing works on them anymore. Whenever we use anything to kill them, after a few hours they come back especially when we are sleeping and sing in our ears. We have employed various methods to eradicate them such as the insecticide, mosquito coils, electric insect catcher, fumigation and so but to no avail. Looks like the only effective option is to sleep with the electric fan on so that the Force of breeze can drive them away. They are so annoying as their high-pitched, whining or buzzing sound in the ear makes sleeping uncomfortable and restless.

Some funny facts I got to see while I was doing my research on these wicked insects is the fact the sounds they make are not deliberate, as it is said that it because of their flapping wings that produce the sounds. Again, a funny fact is that the male and female species of mosquitoes produce different kinds of sounds. If only the sounds they make can disappear, the world would only be terrorised by their biting.
Although we as human are the cause of excessive mosquito breeding in our environment, some of these factors includes stagnant waters from Puddles, ponds, ditches, and marshes, buckets etc, warm climates with high humidity like Nigeria, Dense vegetation, Improper waste disposal, urbanization, agriculture, rainy seasons and so on. Some people can go as far as storing water for days in their homes because of lack of constant water supply and in doing this they end up endangering their health by breeding mosquitoes.
Since insecticides and coils would not work, I decided to stick to the oldest method of safety from mosquitoes by getting a mosquito net. I was surprised by the price as it has increased to #3500 which is triple the previous price that used to be 700 to 1000 naira.
Hopefully this serves a better purpose because one of the reasons why I don't like mosquito nets is because they contribute more heat. One net I used back then gave me serious rashes all over my body and stings. Although it was Siad that new nets could have side effects if not washed or sun dried first.
In conclusion, we should try to practice safety when we can especially when it concerns our health, treatment is expensive now and falling sick is not good.
