Wrongful accusations can diminish a person's morale and leave them with devilish thoughts. It's so bad especially with people who cannot defend themselves, or who have nobody to stand for. There are people who are victims of wrongful accusations and have ended up commiting suicide because of the shame and ridicule they faced by their fellow people in the society. Although, I have not been a victim of serious wrongful accusations but my experience with an ordeal got me thinking that, this sort of thing is so harmful both mentally and physically, because you start asking questions like me? When? How? What? Who told you so? Etc. And you end up in deep thoughts as to why they would do that against you.
So back then in school during our university days, we stayed in a girls hostel and some of my classmates were also based in that hostel. One day, the afternoon was quite boring, then I took a stroll to the other block because we had block A, B and C, I left block C to block B to meet a fellow coursemate I was familiar and close friends with but she was not around. On getting there, her fellow roommates who were also my colleagues were gusting and I happened to barge into it. I really did nit pay attention into what they were saying because, I barely conversed them and I returned back to my block to sleep.
The next day in school, I saw a small commotion where a lady was accusing these girls saying that they gossiped her matter and they pointed accusing fingers to me saying that I was the one that told the lady about what they said in their hostel. This other girl was someone that loved far away and we barely spoke to one another except for greetings. I was shocked by this revelation because they so much trusted themselves that the culprit which is definitely amongst them is blaming me, who walked In on a conversation at the wrong time. I defended myself to the best of ability and partially avoided them for the rest of the school year.
This is a clear illustration of I went to the right place at the wrong time because, if I had stayed in my hostel and not gone out to see my friend, I wouldn't be in such a mess. It was a lesson for me because I began having deep thoughts on what they could have discussed and I was not aware of it.
In conclusion, accusations especially ones that are wrong and not true can be disastrous at times.
